Topic: Compare #of deaths in 1st playthrough of Mario 3D Land

Hey I'm playing Mario 3D Land through right now for my first time.
I noticed that the game keeps track of deaths (is it the only Mario game to do this?), so it got me thinking.
I want to play the game all the way through to the end of world 8 and see how many times I died, and how many star medals I got.
I havn't yet replayed a level to go back and get the star medals I missed (most of them are pretty easy, right?).
I understand there is some kind of "extra world" or something if you get all the star medals, but I'm just interested in keeping track of deaths till the end of world 8.

Anyway, when I get to that point I'll post how many deaths I got, and it would be interesting if other people submitted their death counts.
I think I'm an above average Mario player, I'm curious to compare.
