This game sucks. The physics are not accurate. Puzzles slide without any reason. Stack a few blocks and all is good. Stack a few more the same way and for no reason the blocks start to slide and fall. Lame game.
An EA dude told me a new Madden is coming to 3DS. Can ANYONE else confirm this? This EA dude was on the PS3 Madden team so I'm not so sure he was the most reliable source. I think Madden 3DS plays pretty good BUT it lacked a lot of features, particularly, STAT tracking. I hope EA comes through. I have NO interest in FIFA or PES on 3DS. I wish TECMO would do their football game on 3DS, and hoping to see more SPORTS on 3DS.
Can you ROTATE THE SHAPES? I watched a short video and it looked like the guy had no idea how to play. If you can't rotate the shapes, not so sure about this. Can you rotate the view? Is this a psuedo-3D game.. i.e. it's got 3D-ish effects but you only get the front 2D view?
Does this game track stats or at least high scores. For example, total rounds of bowling played, or total frames, high score or at least your average bowling score?
I played the Original and Against. I prefer the original. Weather doesn't seem to make a hoot of a difference. The Original was fairly easy. Easy mode in Against is NOT easy and requires more grinding that the original on easy. I also play the original on iPhone which is pretty good.
YellowChocobo I agree with slidecage: this is a DIGITAL videogame version of.a board game. It SHOULD have stats, win/loss records for games vs AI and for multiplayer games. I'll pass. I won't go near vid games like this that are lacking in stats and records. Pure lazyness (and shallowness) of the developer.
Regardless of how you play (logically or not), is it THAT hard to learn this game? And is this one of those "really fun for first 10-20 levels and then it gets overly complex and too difficult"?
But if your goal is to "complete" 40 levels, it sounds like you have to do that in a single session, which could take 2 hours. Hence the reason I ask if there's a save or resume option, OR, if you can start a round from the last completed level. I don't care for games that must be completed in a single session or games that save no progression or no state. I like quick, fast paced games, especially ones I can play in short spurts that allow me to continue from where I left off, i.e. between rounds. Or games that allow me to choose the starting level. Ex: if I've completed 20 of 40 levels, I'd like to be able to start a round at level 21, not at level 1 and work my way back up all over again.
What does "instant" puzzle mean? Someone mentioned there are 40 levels and it could take about 2 hours to complete. Do you get to SAVE at anypoint? If your round ends at level 10, can I continue or start a new round at the last completed level or do I have to start over again at level 1.
Can someone answer ANY of my other questions regarding other features like stat tracking, wins/losses, or anything else that would provide replay value and possibly sway me to actually purchase this game?
Here we go again... another subpar review. How about a menu screen shot or some information about whether or not the game tracks wins/losses for solo OR multiplayer? Or any other gameplay stats? Any sort of progression or tournement system? Just play a round and that's it? If this game has no sort of progression model or tournament, or story... no stats, no win loss records the HOW exactly does this game have "infinite" replay value? Stats, records, progression models provide incentive for that replay value. I think what you meant to say is the game rules lend itself to having 'infinite" strategy combinations. But as far as REPLAY value is concerned, is this game THAT bare bones? No stats? No win/loss tracking?
One more question: is there a RESUME button? After cranking through level and level can I pause, quit and save... then resume later? Or does this game skimp out and make you use the sleep function in order to pause and play player? Ya know, sometimes I like to take a break, and play something else, and then come back and resume, hence SLEEP mode doesn't cut it.
Corbie... an obvious platforming fanboy. So does this game have anything to collect besides abilities? Are there lives? When you lose lives do you start completely over or is there a checkpoint system? Any gameplay stats? Any user profiles? Sharp and polished as it may be, what about all these other aspects? Someone also mentioned the game is short. Any REPLAY value here whatsoever? And how many blocks of memory does this game eat up?
"It is certainly far more friendly then the "KORG DS-10" Ummm, Shiryu, this app is completely different from the Korg DS-10. You can't compare the two.
I see a "record" option. Does this game not allow you to have user-name specific score. Without user-names, you can't tell who owns the score. A common mishap in poor quality games....
I agreee with GrumbleGrumble and I haven't even played the game. If this game is THAT easy, and you CANT SAVE during overly LONG levels, forget this. Does the game even track scores? Does it have multiple player profiles? Can you enter name into scoreboard? I'll stick with the originals and other clones.
Are there any sound effects in this game? Can you SAVE during a level? (sleep doesn't count).
And I've never played a Sokoban game. Do you drag the gems? What does the author of this review mean by "pushing" gems? Poorly written review for those who don't know what Sokoban is.
So in SOLO tournament mode, this game tracks NO highscores/records but it does in the Challenges mode? In Challenges mode you earn skill points... does this mean it would make the tournament mode a bit easier after you earn more skill points? Do your skills actually increase?
Confirmed... after playing through the first 26 holes. Tihis is THE WORST incarnation of video game mini-golf I've ever played on any electronic form. Stupid level design (too many ramps, they should've called in RAMP GOLF). Horrible DS graphics. Can't review the hole after the flyby ends. No map/overview of the hole, no restart option. TOtal GARBAGE.
This game SUCKS. Touch detection is horrible. Cards are too small. Out of moves in Klondike but don't want to add a "loss" to your record? Just quit and restart (or vice versa, i forget). All I know is it's easy to avoid accumulating losses. Bargain? Not when its as flawed as this.
There really is NO other choice for mini-golf on DS, accept for the Domo game but that game itself is lame because it won't record a score unless you actually complete a level which is really stupid. Is this 101 mini as BAD as the reviewer says? I think this is on the iPhone and it didn't get very good reviews there.
I heard this game tracks NO stats, NO records. So to the author of this review, HOW can this game offer "pretty much everything you'd expect from your average golf game"?
With no stats, no records, that statement is a stretch. No thanks to this.
DOes the DS version keep track of ALL TIME stats like total planes crashed, total planed landed, like the iPhone does? I don't play the iPhone version because my finger gets in the way. I think this game will play out much better using DS and it's little stylus but I really want the persistent all time stats intact.

Re: Review: Mini Mario & Friends: amiibo Challenge (3DS eShop)
@Ogbert
Its NOT free. You have to BUY DLC ( in the form of an amiibo ) in order to play it. I guess Nintendo has brainwashed some people. Sad.
Re: Review: Bomb Monkey (3DS eShop)
Most developers will NEVER understand how/why leaderboards, user name entry (to CLAIM a high score), and stats are GAME SELL POINTS. SAD.

The retail version of this game has been available on DS for over a year. Nothing new here. Good game. There's an iPhone version as well.
