The reason for the low sales is almost certainly not them doubling down on strategy. I don’t think they did that any more in this game than others, really, unless you consider a higher difficulty “doubling down”. I think the poor story and divisive artstyle as well as the completely non-serious tone were the main reasons that a lot less people were interested in Engage compared to Three Houses. Three Houses walked with confidence, and it was treated like a blockbuster. Engage was not.
