While i have actually come to prefer the pro controller, i am glad i got the adapter seeing as i have four old gamecube controllers lying unused and only one pro controller and the $20 adapter is much more cost effective than buying 3 more pro controllers at $50/each...Also the gamepad is simply unusable for ssb
