@JayJ Those 2 ports were complete abominations on the Switch! I had the displeasure of having both. I gave MXGP 3 a pass (even though I literally brought the game back after having it for 30 minutes) because it was their first go with Unreal 4 and the Switch... however when ME Supercross dropped and it looked like straight up garbage juice I knew they didn't give a crap. There was no reason to strip out the multiplayer, lose the track editor, cut the grid to 11 and then dial down the graphics worse then PS2 era.
MotoGP has been the franchise i always hoped would come out on the Switch since the day I got it a week after launch. But I'm so skeptical now. It also kind of sucks that it's going to be digital only for the US so i couldn't even bring it back if I wanted to.
The game game has been out for a little over a month and there still isn't a review. Well here is the only review you need.
This game is pure garbage juice, don't waste a single penny on it. It might be the worst Switch port to date. Handheld mode is literally unplayable. Shame on Milestone for releasing this but shame on me for pre-ordering it. I returned it 20 minutes after picking it up, something i've never done in 30 years of gaming.
@NinjaBadger actually before the traction control got so sophisticated in MotoGP the riders would routinely "stand" on the rear brake while hard accelerating to reduce wheelies and increase stability... however this is a game, so no one is doing that lol.
The more I think about it, how cool would it be when in table top mode you could use the joy cons almost like actual hand grips on a bike... need throttle, twist your right wrist back... need front brake, left stick up...gear shift up/down could be left and right triggers. turning would actually have to be turning both joy cons like a handle bar. It would be kinda cool... especially in helmet cam.
@kobashi100 You're absolutely right.. but It seems like Nintendo is finally listening to its fans this time around. It's as if they have someone reading through every forum and making changes on the go as people "want" or complain lol. I really wouldn't be surprised if they release a Joy Con Pro with analog triggers in the future.
I would absolutely kill for MotoGP on the Switch! In fact, as of right now being a new father and with my heavy commute (2 hours from Long Island to NYC) the only gaming I do is on my Switch. For me the only thing that I personally want is a proper racing game... Mario Kart 8 isn't scratching my racing itch like i had hoped.
And before I get flamed for "Switch has no analog triggers", I played Gran Turismo 1 on PS1, MotoGP 13 and 14 as well as F1 2011 on my Vita without analog triggers and I had no problem adjusting to different braking zones and throttling out of corners... yeah I get it, you can't trail brake and back the bike into a corner... i got over it. Besides, Switch has motion controls that I think would absolutely benefit a MotoGP game on the machine. I can only hope that this time next year I'll be playing MotoGP 18 on my commute.

Re: MXGP 3 Bringing Motocross Madness To Switch Later This Year

@bluedogrulez ok... i watched it again... with the exception of the very first onboard shot, the rest is definitely replay. My bad.
