https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vp85S2KZjCY Rapper MCU of the Kick the Can Crew explains in this interview that he started collecting Famicom copies of "Bases Loaded", and after tweeting about it, fans at every concert and event hand him copies of the game, and now he has between 1300 to 1400 copies of it. He can't store them all at his home (in his impressive game room which is in the clip above), so they are all stored at the City Connectiom/Jaleco office in Japan.
One thing that was odd is that the box comes with a shrinkwrapped empty standard Switch case for the game. Now I have 2 standard Switch cases for the game...
One aspect not talked about in that video is probably the biggest reason I preferred the 3DS version of Dragon Quest XI. When you get to the Tockle (Yocchi) village and go through the side quests that take place in the previous Dragon Quest worlds, the 3DS version reflects the graphics and soundtracks of the original games. If you go to the 1-4 portals, you will be transported to the original Famicom/NES style world. 5-6 in a Super Famicom world, etc. all the way to the 10 world looking like the Wii version, yet running on the 3DS hardware. This created a great sense of nostalgia for people who played the older games. On the Switch version, every world looks like a generic 16 bit version, giving a very bland presentation for each alternate world.

Received my copy this morning. The book is nice as expected as well as the Steelbook, but sadly no soundtrack album this time around.
