Really, how did the game get such high marks for music and sound in this review when it's so messed up? No percussion at all in the new music, wierd looping issues, and finally, the fact that the sound effects are cranked up to 13 (to sound right, they need to be cranked down to 1/2 volume at most). Don't get me wrong, other than the sound issues they've done a great job with this. I love Cave Story, but I really hope they manage to fix the sound issues, which are irritating. Supposedly they're considering fixing it before the UK release, but if so, Nintendo had better allow a new download for us in the US as well, because if not, then we've been outright ripped off.
I agree that the game deserves a 10 in this case, but I can also see the point that ODOGG618 is making and it doesn't seem that there's any valid reason for hostility against him. He's not being rude, so why does he deserve rudeness in return?
This IS a single player game. It's capable of zooming out quite a bit, allowing for some chaotic multiplayer fun, but largely it's just as much of a single player game as SMB1, 2, 3, World, and Yoshi's Island. The multiplayer is great fun (although a bit overly chaotic with 4 players on the screen at once), but definitely designed around an extremely solid single player experience. They haven't made the game easy either, which was my biggest fear. The challenge is rock solid.
@ Kirk: Naw, the Wii can easily handle the graphics you see in those screenshots; The Wii could have a little trouble with all the trees if it was rendered on the fly maybe, but think the landscape is prerendered. And it's Jackal, so it can't very well be made to look cartoony.
Everyone who gets this, keep in mind that while the sideways remote works, this game plays significantly better with a classic controller. And it's badass.
Unfortunately, Puzzle League has been stripped of multiplayer, which was definitely it's strongest point. Good buy for 500 if you don't have a friend with a DS though, I suppose.
This review is ridiculous; by far the worst I've ever read on this site. As a board game, intended to be played by more than one person, it absolutely shines. I mostly agree with Nintendolife reviews, but this one's completely off the mark. Everyone I've played this game with (and that's 8 so far) has had an absolute blast. Sure, the single player mode grows old quickly, but that's clearly not the focus of the game anyway. If you like board games at all, then this one is just great, with plenty of strategy and style.
Bub710's comment above is dead-on.
Also, one example where the review is flat-out wrong: the amount of time it takes computer players to take their turn. You can press A at any time to skip the wait. There are plenty of other examples of misinformation as well, but it's not even worth taking the time to go through the review to point them all out. I'm not even remotely convinced that the reviewer played the game for more than 10 minutes.
I bought Pop-Up Pursuit earlier today, and I've been having a blast playing it with my girlfriend. It's a heckuva party game... definitely one of the more interesting Wiiware titles yet; I can't get enough of the 'Book of Magick' squares. And no Mario Party minigames here; this is purely a strategic board game with lots of cool animations. I really hope Nintendo releases more 'Picturebook Games' titles... a platformer would be excellent, but if it had as much animation as Pop-Up Pursuit, it would have to be very short to fit within 40MB.

Awesome. I'm really looking forward to this.
I loved the original version.

Re: Blaster Master: Overdrive Coming to WiiWare on Monday
What happened to Alex's huge head? Head reduction surgery? It looks good, but they should've kept Alex superdeformed.
Re: Review: New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Wii)
Oh, also, great review Corbie! The game has impressed me equally much.

Corbie:
Statz, Stantz, Stentz, and Plempel. Did you really interview 4 people for this article?
It's Statz, btw

Picturebook Games looks to be quite good. Other than that, meh. I'm sick of Shinobi.
