@Greator It's such a great series. 1-3 are a trilogy of sorts, as is 4-6. 7, 8, 9 and 11 are stand alone, and 10 is a Japanese only MMO (for now). In terms of which one to start with, 1is awesome but VERY retro and quite grindy. 4 is great as well and by that time has a lot of the series' established iconic bits. 7 is good but very long and if you don't want to beat your head against a wall, the DS version is the way to go. 8 is awesome and many fan's favorite, I know a lot who were drawn in by this entry. 9 is sort of weird and divisive, a lot of online elements that sort of changed the game, but it has it's fans. XI was, IMHO, the best game I have played in a while and definitely my GotY.
