@Wexter Also you will get an average consumer that looks at this and the amazing amount of quality games on the Steam store.I think steam will support games with a type of thing similar to GeForce experience which auto sets graphics settings on games to run optimally. This is basically a console with a Steam experience. Most consumers won't even use it for it's full experience. Hardcore gamers will love the flexibility. There is a market for this handheld hybrid.
@Wexter Cheaper games will sell it to the average consumer. If you are not interested in Nintendo first party games and I assume a lot of people that haven't bought a Switch yet aren't. This is actually a cheaper handheld to own as Steam sales blow away any Nintendo sale. Also every game will run much better than on the Switch OLED. There are people that will see this as a better option.
@Gwynbleidd Yes they will run much better at that resolution. Every game that is on both systems will run much better on this than a Switch.
Witcher 3 for example.
@Wexter If you use your Switch for 3rd party games and even indie games the extra £110 for the faster and bigger storage will pay for itself with much cheaper games on PC. Nintendo tax is a joke, I just can't believe how expensive games are on Switch. Also Nintendo has such a poor online experience. Steam chat, Steam works are for example very good.
Don't get me wrong I love the Switch and the first party games and even if I didn't have a big Steam library this device is a much cheaper way to play games on a handheld in the long run.
If I knew this was coming out I wouldn't have bought 3rd party Switch games that perform poorly or indie titles, I have even double dipped on games on my Steam library to play them mobile. No need for that any more.
@Gwynbleidd Most PC games will work with the resolution. Have you ever used a PC, most games have loads of resolution options. It's a PC so it's all about graphics and resolution options.
@Amsterdamsters You will have PC exclusives and a much bigger and better library of games. Much much cheaper games in the long run also so you actually will save money . But if you want Nintendo games you buy a Switch, but this is a much better hybrid and you will be paying much less money for your games.
Also you don't have to buy a dock to connect it to a TV/monitor there are cheaper USB 3 cables.
This is a hybrid system like the Switch so I just don't get the 'How can you compare this to the Switch' responses. If you don't care that much about Nintendo games but want a hybrid handheld this beats the Switch hands down in every department.
@BloodNinja I know but the general consensus from console only gamers is that PC's are hard work. Now you and I know it's not the case. My biggest gripe is you can't tinker graphics settings on console games so you are stuck with poor framerates on some games.
@russell-marlow This won't be as user friendly as a console. People will need to hit the graphics settings. It will be a more hardcore handheld but also one with the biggest and best library of games. As much as I love some Nintendo games the PC by far has the best library of games on any platform.
More of a niche device but still looks like a proper gamers handheld and a half decent docked console also. Hook this up to a hotel TV and you have a PS4 equivalent PC console or hook up a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse and you have a PC. What's not to love about it.
Also a huge draw is that games on the PC are so much cheaper than Switch. I honestly can't believe how expensive Switch games are, even the 3rd party games. The Nintendo store sales compared to the Steam sales are laughable. Games on the NS are extremely overpriced.
@russell-marlow The resolution is pretty much the same. The huge difference will be the graphics and performance. For instance playing The Outer Worlds or Doom on this compared to Switch will be next generation better on the Steam handheld. Personally I think the resolution is absolutely fine for a small screen, better graphics settings textures etc will be much more noticeable in making games look better than resolution. I bought the Trine games recently on Switch and was so disappointed how poor they look compared to PC . I will buy one of these handhelds and keep the switch primarily for first party games.
How many people here want to discontinue the Lite? so many comment here for that, I think the Lite is a great handheld, I actually prefer it to the switch in handheld mode and when I am away from my house.
@reporterdavid Personally I would of loved a cheaper Switch console (no screen) to accompany the Lite. Being able to seamlessly connect the 2 for game saves also. I don't regret having 2 switches as I think the Lite is a much better portable device. I never liked the DS to be honest but the PS Vita is a fantastic handheld and the Lite beats it as the best handheld ever made. Shame about the lack of Bluetooth audio as the Vita has it.
@Steo If the Lite sells well and people like it why is it a terrible decision. I prefer it as a handheld, the Switch itself is a little too big for comfort and portability on the go imo.
I bought a Switch Lite because I wanted a portable device. Then I realised that I wanted to play on the big screen also so bought a Switch also. Best of both worlds as the Lite is a better device for portability.
Just got a Switch Lite as I already game mainly on PC and a bit on PS4 Pro and the idea of it's portability sold me. Have to say I am impressed at some of the games on this portable gaming device. The icing on the cake for me as I love video golf games is PGA TOUR 2K21 is coming to the Switch.

@Gwynbleidd So why the comment that you can't play most PC games with the resolution when you actually can. You are the one giving misinformation.

@Kensui The cheapest model is 50 dollars more than the OLED Switch, of course you can compare prices.

@westman98 It will have exclusive content, all the PC games that are not available on consoles.
