I have a portable monitor for traveling. I used to just carry my second dock with a HDMI cable but increasingly I find the TVs HDMI ports in hotels to be inaccessible.
So I got a shell for my dock to reduce the size and a 15' portable monitor along with the Soundcore Mini 2 speaker. The dock provides the power and HDMI signal to the monitor and the whole set up doesn't really take up that much space. And I don't have to worry about frying my Switch as I am using the official charger and dock.
It's definitely not for portability but it's great to play games on a bigger screen when I'm traveling.
