Re: Nintendo's Share Price Plummets In Response To E3 Direct

This was bound to happen after the Direct. Aside from the 4 first party games shown and 3 3rd party titles. There was no major third party announcement. Ubisoft Bethesda and EA all snubbed the Nintendo Switch. If you have a Switch as your main console you can't help but wonder what you are going to play over the next 6 months. PS4 and Xbox are getting a boatload of 3rd party titles all of which none will be gracing the Nintendo Switch. Pokémon & Smash are not going to keep people engaged with the Switch. You have Spiderman / Red Dead Redemption all coming soon. What title is going to keep any one playing Switch?

Even though I feel all 3 of the major game console conferences were packing because none really showed off major first party games coming soon. I am down on Nintendo because at least if you own a PS4 or XBox you can look forward to a whole slew of third party games coming to your console for the Switch 2 of the 3 major third party announcements are out today Fortnite and Paladins. dBZ fighters this summer other than that there is nothing to look forward to non first party related.

I understand the point you are making in the article about the freshness and the alternative style of Nintendo games. When the Switch came out I decided to make it my main gaming console because yes I do enjoy all the Nintendo titles but also because I like the portability factor of the console since it fits my lifestyle. When you are married with kids being able to sit down in front of a TV is hard to do. That being said I know many of us Switch owners would love those "Serious PC /PS4/ XBox" AAA titles to be released on Switch also! When I had my PS4 and Vita I pretty much beat the Witcher and Dark Souls 3 on my Vita streaming. Publishers need to realize that many people want to play their games on the go.
