Re: Anniversary: The Legend Of Zelda Turns 40 Today - How Did You First Play It?

Zelda a Link to the past was my first. I'm from the Netherlands and we were on Holiday in France when I was nine or ten years old. My parents and I were browsing on a second hand market and we found Zelda and Super Ghouls and Ghosts for SNES. Zelda was in french though, which I didn't speak a word of, so I had to promise to my dad that I wouldn't whine about that later.

I promised and he gifted it to me and when I was home I found a French-Dutch Translation Book in one of our closets and managed to finish the game. Completely fell in love with Zelda.

Ocarina of time was my best Zelda experience ever though. I think it was magical because at that time it was also one of the better games graphically in that era. Or so it felt for me and these days it's never really a frontrunner in that department. The music and dungeons were amazing and things I heavily missed in the past two Zelda's.
