I never actually thought that people may take Geiblingers words serious about the Bit.Trip rant. But I guess bad publicity is better than no one at all, right Bernd?
@baadbwoy: That's not our concern here. Let's say we knew Bplus years before their first game has been released and we judge their projects and efforts from a different point of view. And that's all what I will say to the topic.
@baadbwoy: I must say that our group isn't on friendly terms with Bplus [after some personal RL-problems with him] but we try to give the game a fair score (we're not from NintendoLife, just for the remember) because we acknowledge his works as a indie-dev. Unfortunately the game just doesn't feels like a real good game, Bernd put much more effort and creativity into Plättchen then the other games.
Our thoughts from yesterday: Wait for Cave Story or pay for Rockman 9 if you really want a superb retrogame or give Bplus a try with Plättchen when it gets a price cut in Europe.
After playing it for a while (with three friends yesterday) I wonder why the score is that high at NL. 5 out from 10? I think a 3 would suits it more. Yesterday our group had a heavy talk about the awful leveldesign and we don't know if it was on purpose or just bad random creating because it hasn't anything to do with retro difficulties when the design is just a mess. We actually found the concept interesting but after 3-4 hours gameplay we agreed in almost every term that the game was just a cheap pacman shareware clone in different retro-styles and a real waste of wiipoints. Better wait for Cave Story or stick with Plättchen if you a fan of Bplus.
Buster: I don't think so. I don't care for Bernds PR sweet or tough guy talkies anymore. I've played Plättchen and Niki after the public release for a while on our Gamer Parties and in both cases it wasn't satisfying and worth the money. Bit Boy looks like a recycled concept of Pac-Man in just various generations of styles. Bernd/Daniel: Ever heard something about Doukutsu Monogatari/Cave Story? It will be released for WiiWare soon and I think you both should aim for that kind of retro-quality for your upcoming games.
"If you thought the visuals were sugary sweet, wait until you get a load of the musical score. The upbeat musical tracks are absolutely sticky sweet and fit the cute visuals to a tee."
The Soundtrack is from Michiru Yamane, she made most of the popularest Dracula/Castlevania Soundtracks too.
After reading the comments for days I can only say that it looks like that Bplus couldn't reach the game-designer heavens with their abilities. Ironically someone from the Bplus-team once told me that I don't know the important factors in developing videogames.
Anyway... I don't think that Plättchen will be a match for Rockman 9, one of the most wanted games for WiiWare.
Beyon Oasis/Story of Thor will be released in the fist week of april. Anyway, this is the offensive attack from Nintendo, because it's the PS3 EU Launch Date today.
Why is this title the best of all the metroids? It's hard to say without spoiling you, but the final confrontation is just a thriller. I know every 2D Metroid-Game and if you never played this one, you will might surprised. For a SNES-Game.
Anyway, the story's about returning to Zebes, the Planet from the Classic Metroid/Zero Mission. And yeah, it has a lot of these deja vu-moments.

At -1:30... one of the few superb themes from the game.
Instant win. Unlied.
