Was worried about the performance for Teslagrad 2 - turns out i was sceptical for a reason... framerate is sluggish throughout. No major drops, but unfortunately choppy from the start. There must be a patch in the pipeline - shouldn't have been released in this state. Probably rushed for the Indie World unfortunately.
Sadly, I can't play games like this on Switch anymore. Downloaded the demo, and it's just blurry as hell. For me it was hard to even see where I'm going. Compared to the demo on Steam Deck this is night and day unfortunately. But all this aside, the demo and the review here gave me a good enough impression that this game isn't for me.
Unpacking is a beautiful, laid-back game (that totally deserves the 9/10 review) - but honestly, also a game that's perfectly fine digitally, at least for me. It's brief, and priced at a high level for what it is (but not overpriced), but 35$, for me plus a fair amount of shipping and tax, is too much.
Over 3k reviews with "very positive" average on steam, recommended by some of my favourite gaming sites - maybe it just didn't click for NL. Will remain on my wishlist, as it seems generally well-received.
Little bit of a different angle on the game, as I played it on Apple Arcade: I'm so glad I didn't pay for the game (besides the subscription).
In my half an hour of playing the game, I had the game crash five times (three of which were me trying to play the owl song somewhere because I didn't know what else to do), dying another five times through falling in pits and from ledges that weren't properly discernable from the rest of the ground - and trying to make sense of the map.
I wanted to love the game, and the visuals are downright gorgeous - but in its current state I won't return to it. And to patch this up, they would have to fix way more than just bugs imo.
And about the Dark Souls comparison: All those arguments about being obtuse and unfair as a theme - Baldo is not at all like this. In the style of play this game shoots for, it's just badly designed and not thought through. Just sad.
