The critically-acclaimed "zen" title Unpacking will be receiving a physical edition thanks to a partnership between publisher Humble Games and the physical games specialist Limited Run Games.
Pre-orders are open now over on the Limited Run website, with the game coming complete with a cute outer sleeve that looks like a bog-standard cardboard box - synergy!
Sadly, there's no big, fancy collector's edition available; though to be honest, we're not too sure what it would even come with - a spirit level? Some styrofoam?
We loved Unpacking here at Nintendo Life, awarding the game a 9/10 in our review, praising the "excellent visual and sound design" alongside some "powerful interactive storytelling".
This might be one to keep an eye on if you're a fan of physical games. Will you be unpacking Unpacking and popping it on display? Let us know!

I'm not even really interested with the game, I just really want the physical for some reason LOL.
Unpacking is a beautiful, laid-back game (that totally deserves the 9/10 review) - but honestly, also a game that's perfectly fine digitally, at least for me. It's brief, and priced at a high level for what it is (but not overpriced), but 35$, for me plus a fair amount of shipping and tax, is too much.
LRG. Order now get in time for the next gen!
Avoid. No need for the business model they adopt
I couldn’t stick with it. It was a little disturbing to play after a point for me.
Has this ever been on sale? I really want to check this out, but £17.99 digital is too much for me to justify.
@Stocksy
That's unfair, they operate on a order system where units are manufactured to demand.
This is the reality of the physical production and publication process that people usually never see, it's a time-consuming process.
@RupeeClock it’s not unfair. The rest of the industry manages
@Stocksy
No, the industry has to deal with the same production timelines as LRG does.
What's different here is that the retail market already has the pieces manufactured in time for sale, instead of manufacturing a number that matches a requested demand.
LRG has to operate on the latter because to manufacture too many would be a gamble. If you produce 30,000 units but there was only demand for 8,000 you will eat heavy losses.
Not getting this one, but I ordered Demon's Turf, Ender Lillies CE, and Postal this month.
@Snatcher That's pretty funny!
@PoliticallyIncorrect I know, I really don't know why I want the physical version, at all, maybe the box art is just eye candy to me.
@Snatcher I just told my son today that, although I own the physical of This War of Mine, I had the urge to buy it digitally just because it's only $1.99. Lol. So I'm no better. Have a great day man!
@PoliticallyIncorrect You too!
