@Saf01 "I’m creating a list of games from franchises that I’ve never played, so far consisting of Breath of the Wild, Monster Hunter Rise and Dragon Quest XI"
I'd say you have enough games there to keep you going for the next year - all three are huge games. They're also brilliant.
I don't like mobile games and the videogame market is now so oversaturated there's barely enough time to play the 'big releases' so it's hardly surprising that I have no interest in any of these games.
The JoyCon is the worst controller I've ever used. It has almost no redeeming qualities. Too small, too fragile and too expensive to replace when something inevitably breaks.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Good grief, that game needs an editor. It's an enjoyable experience all told, but there is sometimes truth in the phrase 'less is more'. The aux cores are a good example of this: i have to collect collectibles to power up the unrefined collectible power ups I've already collected? Madness!
@Ajent. I'm sorry that I didn't explicitly state in my original comment 'I believe your metaphor is a wrong one, and here's why...'. I should have then said 'as a corollary to that this situation could easily be resolved if Nintendo.... (Did this). And in an ideal world where everybody could be happy, that would be the situation.'
Clearly, everything has to be unambiguously stated, lest anyone should get upset, or anyone misinterpret genuinely held opinions as trolling.
Also, maybe learn to accept that other people mightn't agree with you from time to time.
@Ajent Calm down dear😂. You were missing MY point. I was commenting on what I believe would be a better solution to what is clearly a problem. Or, do you believe that everyone should throw up their hands and say 'oh well, nothing can be done'.
As it happens, I've pre-ordered the standard edition. If the CE and Amiibo were more readily available, I probably would have got them. I wonder how many people want to order the product, but can't, and how many more sales Nintendo could make if this was more readily available. Clearly, not enough to make it worthwhile.
@Ajent You're missing the point too. Nintendo could easily produce more product to satisfy a large part of pre-order sales. Obviously, they would produce more over the long term, but Nintendo surely knows that pre-order demand is more likely to be for hundreds of thousands of this item than tens of thousands. This is a company that has released hundreds of similar items over the best part of the last decade. They know fairly well what demand will be.
They fairly explicitly stated their approach to creating desirability and value for an item when they decided to make the Mario All-stars Collection time limited.
@Ajent your metaphor is wrong because you are comparing a one-off event that can only be performed by a single person, or small group in a venue that can only hold a finite number of participants to a cheap hunk of plastic and a chip that Nintendo could easily produce by the millions.

Just saying😉https://news.sky.com/story/gamers-derail-ebay-listings-to-stop-hardware-scalpers-profiting-on-latest-technology-12143733
Re: Where To Pre-Order Metroid Dread Special Edition And Samus & EMMI amiibo
Of course, pre-order scalping could be curbed if eBay forbade the listing of an item before it's release date.
