Alright for this game I found it really enjoyable even tho it's a shame how underrated it is after being the only "good" Jet fighter game with multiplayer and good graphics anyways here is my review.
This game has 14 missions with easy medium or hard difficulties the story has us destroy different targets those being factories enemy ships because of this Quianshui industries corps there is some ok writing but the story is not really captivating or memorable hell it kinda becomes forgotten because of that plot that of the name fighter that disappears completely from the story (some rival or whatever). anyways story is ok but not the core of the game so its optional 3/10
Gameplay on the other hand its great you control your jet that you choose either from the missions selection campaigns or custom mode you get to fly lots of planes customize them via paintings and chase their load out and I think thats pretty good, old school ace combat basically. you take control of your jet and you lock into enemies and destroy them very simple but It will definitely test your skills when playing on Survival mode (SRV) I think its repetitive but nonetheless very fun I did play multiplayer 3 or 4 times and it was also really fun to go against other players and. their ow unique play style I think the game has some replayability because you can play all the other modes like TDM SRV LMS there is lots of them all which you can play online and offline also there is 8 maps to choose from and you can explore them freely and do stunts. (Campaign took about 2 hours to finish but depending on skill) over all Gameplay its 8/10 there were some minor bugs like the cockpit locking and not being able to switch views or the UI being completely gone and the most recurring one which is the game lagging after you destroy an enemy with missiles. every time you do it.
Visuals look really beautiful specially for a switch game both in handheld and tv it looks great the planes have lots of details the cities the environment, boats water minor reflections its looks great 9/10
Audio is fairly nice it does have surround so thats cool it will get you immersed if you play with headphones and on cockpit view but other then that the audio is not that special plane sounds are all basically the same mix of audio the gun effects also very repetitive no variation it sucks because I think jets all have unique sounds like the brrrr from the a-10 that sadly is gone in this game missiles and everything is the same also the music is very mid and repetitive luckily you can turn it off sounds it mediocre 5/10
Performance is great Its not a heavy inducing game with lots of stuff or anything like that hell you can run it on IOS so is fine game runs at 60 on tv and 30 on handheld it does dip slightly on handheld but not really noticeable unless you have a fps counter so it runs great 9/10
Price is at 30 dollars US but honestly I would get it on sale mainly because its an arcade game thats very weak when it comes to value 6/10
Over all I think this game works as a upgrade from the original mainly visuals wise however gameplay wise is the same and compared to afterburner they really didn't add to much new planes not to mention there is no Expansions or updates to it still fun for being the only good switch jet game 4 stars in my Opinion as a consumer
(as its current state of 28/02/23) This is my review of this game I will be rating it based on gameplay performance, visuals and price. (there is no story) so I will add a bonus one audio
The game is centered on 3 main campaigns (1 extra dlc) you basically fight the enemy AI in plenty ww2 scenarios and its really fun and the game has a lot of love put in with outfits vehicles things historians are interested you get to ride every vehicle in the game fly on planes use artillery command squads not to mention the weapons are realistic they put a lot of work into it overall Gameplay its a solid 10 there is some replayability if you want to get this special dogtags so there is that, having the dlc won't really change gameplay its just an extra nation with more weapons and vehicles. On the other hand the AI is silly at times reminding me of half-life ai but when the AI does work well and doesn't run into an mg emplacement then yeah it feels rewarding. You can play with AI and Online you choose whatever the map gives you either Germany or US (there is more) and you fight them basically hordes of AI against you you can play as the defender team or the attacker one however you can choose to play however you like. AI will play differently tho.
On the online its also pretty fun Usually lobbies as of now have 4 to 3 people out of 20 but its the same game so you fight the AI or Defend playing with players makes the game harder in the way of how they play because they use different tactics so get a friend to play this with (just don't commit warcrimes lol) * Performance is a mixed I know the devs are fixing this here and there but as of now its decent if you play with no AI you can a 45-60 fps ratio if you start fighting AI or have intense combat the frames will be around 15-30 fps they dip and the increase depending on the action which is ok but not great since it can be annoying specially during the late game or intense combat where you need those extra fps to aim and move quicker. 6/10 playable but not what you need on an fps.
Quality is good for the switch the game looks good on handheld and ok on tv (monitor) Switch games can look impressive or can run amazing this one is not one of those it looks good but not anything special (it was made by one developer so its not an AAA title) there is low poly models when you aim on the sights of the tanks or marksman and they look kinda silly, draw far distance is ok you will see pop ins of houses bushes stuff like that which is ok but not great over all 7/10 for Visuals.
Bonus is Audio its not a deal breaker or anything but it does have a really nice mix of audio specially on headphones stuff like shells passing next to you or crispy gun sounds all in here there is one annoying thing is that explosions are either to loud or to weak things like the plane chasing sounds to loud meanwhile at gun next to you its very weak so 9/10
Price is great you are getting lots of content multiplayer there is lots of details to gameplay all for a bargain price of 8 bucks (without dlc) excellent price for the switch despite its decent Performance and quality you do get to play the most realistic WW2 game on the switch so I think that makes it stand out 10/10
over all 4.2 stars my rating over here I'll give it a 7-8

Performance is a mixed I know the devs are fixing this here and there but as of now its decent if you play with no AI you can a 45-60 fps ratio if you start fighting AI or have intense combat the frames will be around 15-30 fps they dip and the increase depending on the action which is ok but not great since it can be annoying specially during the late game or intense combat where you need those extra fps to aim and move quicker. 6/10 playable but not what you need on an fps.
