Very disappointed that owners of the physical version do not get the free upgrades. I contacted Playstack about it and this is the answer they gave me:
"Hi there,
Thank you for reaching out about Balatro. We are sorry but we are unable to offer the 100% discount for owning the game and we understand this is disappointing. As the Nintendo Switch 2 edition is it's own title (and not an digital upgrade) we can sadly only offer the discount on digital versions as there is no way to verify ownership on physical copies.
We wish we had communicated this better when we announced the owner's discount and apologise that we can't give you the answer you would have liked. Thank you so much for your understanding.

I think this is a poor and lazy answer considering I own physical versions of Dave the Diver, Subnautica, and Hollow Knight, and all of them, when the upgrade was rolled out they were able to provide it for free for both digital and physical owners. I am done with Balatro and Playstack.
