You absolutely have to play and review Mosa Lina, by Stuffed Wombat and some of their collaborators that released in June of this year. It’s a platformer take on a bite-sized “immersive sim” with layers upon layers of randomness. You’re given a randomized set of tools to collect all of the fruit and reach the goal in a randomized set of nine levels. Figuring out the interaction of the different gadgets and stage elements leads to so many edge-of-your-seat, plans-falling-apart failures and victories… it’s amazing. Entertaining to play and possibly even more entertaining to watch. Mosa Lina has such a unique and thoughtful design, just an expert blend of discovery, improvisation, hostility, and slapstick. Easily the best game I’ve played all year and maybe the past several years!
