@Varkster Thank you for being willing to have a discussion about your likes & dislikes about the game. It is very pleasant to have a normal, civil, mature, non-political discussion for a change. I thoroughly enjoyed not yelling at each other about issues that have little to do with me for once. I, too, LOVE the Half-Life games. Once you used that example I totally understood what you meant regarding asset redundancy in good puzzles. Even with repeating assets in-game it can still be very fun with proper usage.
@Varkster In what ways did they play it safe? I grew up playing the original Playstation releases and I absolutely love the remakes, just curious what disappointed you about them. I say sincerely though that there's nothing wrong with your opinion, I'm just genuinely curious what you didn't like about them.
@Ratking I disagree completely. I still have my original Playstation releases of RE1, 2, and 3, and I went back and tried playing 2 & 3, then played the remakes. The remakes are not just good games, they are FAR superior to the original releases in every way, graphically, story, gameplay mechanics, ESPECIALLY controls. Nothing wrong with having your own opinion, I just feel differently.

Just because it has lot of grass and is cel shaded doesn't mean it rips off Breath of the Wild. Gameplay looks entirely different.
