Just saying, the developers never commented on the level of their support, and it would be a great thing to clear up, assuming they don't want to hide more rhetoric in this game.
Just a reminder that the developers support Jordan Peterson and left references to his work in The Messenger. Knowing that leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
@TowaHerschel7 GameARTS has nothing to do with the Wild Arms franchise. Wild Arms was developed by Media.Vision, a company which is still around and currently is responsible for the Valkyria Chronicles series.
GameARTS is the company responsible for Lunar and Grandia.
A lot of people were in that movie that are still good actors and actresses. If you seriously don't know who Idris Elba is, then it takes only a few seconds to Wiki his filmography.
@greenwichlee This stance some people have that Nintendo should just stop updating altogether is baffling to me. Even if you inexplicably would rather have no games than obscure ones, maybe the people who actually have an interest shouldn't be punished for your distaste?
@noobish_hat Not sure what bizarre schadenfreude you're getting out of this, but I guess good for you that people who enjoy a thing get to no longer enjoy the thing anymore. I'm glad this worked out for you.
I feel like several people here are confusing the content and the container.
What Nintendo is selling is online service. The NES and SNES collections are bonuses to help sell the service, but they are not the service themselves. Nintendo didn't have to offer anything at all, but they did as a way to give something extra to buyers.
I'm not saying people don't have a right to criticize, but people are acting like Nintendo owes this to them, when they don't. It's a very self entitled point of view.
It's great that folks keep rattling off names of games like Terranigma or Cybernator that Nintendo doesn't own or have control over. It's not like they just flip a switch and put it up there.
I think people need to temper their expectations a little. It's not like Konami or Capcom are going to bring any games to the table, since they're doing their own retro collections and putting any on here would cut into potential profits.
It is slightly curious that Nintendo doesn't put Earthbound or work out an arrangement with Square to put Super Mario RPG on the service. Hell, I'm still waiting for Zoda's Revenge on the NES front.
That aside, there isn't really much left on the NES or SNES for Nintendo to bring over unless they start putting time and money into translations for Japan-only games, which they certainly aren't about to do.
If anything, I do agree it's an issue that Nintendo hasn't moved on to another system by now. Or, if they don't have plans to do that for whatever reason, they should offer some kind of method for people to purchase those games.
I guess what I'm saying is if you're going to be mad, be mad for the right reasons and use a little common sense.
@The-Nate I mean, they thought the prototype they were using to make the complete game had been leaked. They would have had every right to pursue action if that had been the case. I'm frankly surprised they even apologized; you certainly wouldn't see Nintendo doing that.
@The-Nate A quick Google search indicates that both parties confirmed it was the result of a misunderstanding about the source of the prototype and Piko even went on record to apologize for their actions, so it kind of sounds like that's water under the bridge at this point.
@SilentHunter382 You're probably right, but the math is curious, no? Since it adds up to the same file sizes? Just thought it was something worth adding to the discussion.

Re: Best Contra Games On Nintendo Systems
Wild how the article mentions wanting Contra Force in the Anniversary Collection but clearly didn't want it ranked on the list.

Re: Eek! The Physical Copy Of Monster Hunter Stories 2 Might Require A Download
I'm surprised no one here seems to have thought to do this, but the Steam version of the game lists a requirement of 28 GB, so....
