I took alexsays attitude in posts 123/125 as sarcasm designed to provoke a response, which it did. I did it myself with Hal, and kind of apologised when realising where it was going. Having thought about it, I'm going to hang around here, but move on from this experience.
btw has anyone tried any of the Oot high res re-texture mods? some of them are impressive
oh and comment 130 as in being neutral, not starting up another fight (yeah i will wait and see) it originaly pointed to my own comment (122 not 123) but someone delete one, or i made a typo???
I believe (ie my opinion, not necessarily a fact) that the wii is revolutionary in the sense that it has successfully brought motion control to the console market, whilst bringing gaming to a more casual and family oriented audience. I never once said the games were. I said DIFFERENT from the mainstream I would like to see goldeneye brought to the vc service although it probably won’t be. (my opinion is that it will be, but I am not holding onto that belief for dear life as AlexSays thinks)
SF2 is dated now and shouldn’t be included as wiiware as it isn’t a new game neither is bcr, Merely rehashes of old games as their title suggests. I see no reason why bcr cannot be done on wii as it is not particularly technical in gfx, Only that the file size would most likely be bigger that the wii capacity (this was countered in both snes & n64 with drive addons, given they were only released in japan)
These are my opinions, I am not backing them up with sources as I see no need to.
Revolutionary also means to make an abrupt change, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revolutionary Ie motion control as the main purpose of the console (not take over the world or a government mind)
As for the argument, comment 122 “um alexsays, it is my understanding that nintendo said they were/are in talks to bring goldeneye to vc. i have not yet seen an article stating never from either party” (as in maybe they will/maybe they won’t, I’m not arguing that point) “meh, i guess i will just have to dig out my 64 again” (as in meh.. I’m bored of this . move on) I myself inflamed the convo with comment 124/126 But only because of the sarcasm in comments 123/125
Make of this what you will, I didn’t come here to make enemies or friends, Just to put my opinion forward
@Mr. Cheez , thank you for someone finally getting my point
@Cooldued59, I didn't supply any evidence because i wasn't trying to start an argument, that was all alexsays doing in an effort to make himself look cool or whatever. try reading comment 122 & 130 again please
and dito to Wiiloveit
nice to know nintendo sites are no better than pc ones in the "hey lets twist someone's opinion into a fight in an effort to flame"
lol it was directed at me longtimegamer just because i said i havn't seen an article that says goldeneye isn't coming to vc he thinks i care or obsess about could be games
ok, see comment 123 i really don't care if it does or doesn't i still have the original cart, it would just be easier to dl it than get my housebrick (64) out again it would be nice if it does, but i'm not holding my breath (for legal reasons)
lmao thats not proof mate, thats a magazine article guessing not once in the shacknews article does it say NEVER and the second link is just a copy/paste of the points raised
um alexsays, it is my understanding that nintendo said they were/are in talks to bring goldeneye to vc. i have not yet seen an article stating never from either party
meh, i guess i will just have to dig out my 64 again
I herby appoint this thread "longest, most pointless, mines bigger than yours, my specrtum 48k is better than your comodore 64, going off topic" award
btw wiiware-world should start a forum called "I love my wii" (insert "playing with my wii" joke here)
@Twilight Crow your absolutely right, they have permission from RARE already for their games. and activision are already releasing games for the wii (cod5/quantum of solace/tony hawks) so like i said, it's a matter of time and legal bribes.. trust me it will be released. unless michael jackson buys the rights lol
@longtimegamer
no i didn't know about that, although he did the clone wars cartoons twice (hand drawn then cgi) and he also said he would never release the original star wars on dvd as the remastered versions were in his opinion the film he wanted to make in the first place
@Twilight Crow but activision cannot claim goldeneye as theirs as it wasn't in the first place. and why would ninty ask rare for permission of something they don't own anymore?
man this is getting way past sf2 hd and bcr now lmao
@jeremy2 i guess the whole sd debate is because of piracy, have a look on the net.. you can find heaps of old games without much looking involved. however them running from sd would be much better as you said. you do realise you can dump you games to sd from the wii to free up some of that precious hd space. (probably but you never know)
@ longtimegamer the american comment was meant as sarcastic humor. sorry if i offended. but yes the whole sf2 thing is because of the arcade scene, ie. add some extras onto existing boards. up untill now you could't get extra content for existing games well gta maybe on ps1 i'm still awaiting super duper street fighter 2.1.5.66 nunchuck edition
@jk lmao, but res4 was better than ps2 version on wii..... JUST
oh and the capcom defection started with sf2 for mega drive/genesis when they finally released it 2 years after the snes version, they went to town with 3-4 versions of it
capcom are the george lucas of the game world "hey look we have sf2 again this time with a new combo move... its yours for just $100"
@blockhead comment 95 that's what i suspected of the license yet it still doesn't explain the goldeneye issue. I suspect they will release it at some point, but are trying to make a big issue out of it by saying licenses are causing problems
ok so my point was, the wii can do better than just shiny mario games, not that it can compete with ps3/360! also the pc can do better than ps3/360, so that nulls that point again and to be honest cod4 is better than cod5 gfx wise (too dark or cartoony in light levels) it shows that cod5 on wii is better looking than ff12 on ps2. i wouldn't buy a wii for online fps, nor a ps3/360 for that matter. that's why i have my pc
can i just draw everyone's attention to this little know game if you think wii can't do good gfx (yeah i know the edges are rougher than pc/ps3/360 but look at the detail)
DKC4 would be good mate but unfortunately rare are now owned by micro$oft and i'm not sure if they still hold the license (yeah i know nintendo own donkey kong but not sure about the dkc line) btw rare were at one point know as treasure (gun star heroes on mega drive/genesis) yohi's island would be a start never mind a new one on vc I think the whole vc idea could have been done better if they used some of the ideas incorporated into system emulators on pc (plugins to improve the overall look of games)... but thats a whole new topic
another thing to ponder...... if dkc and gun star heroes are on vc whats the excuse for goldeneye not being on (licensing excuses don't wash if you release other games by rare)
hey guys, I love wii... we all do, thats why we are here getting all defensive we are all getting a little lost within the topic here myself included. big huggs all round hey, long live ninty.
oh btw FF12 was released right at the end of the ps2 lifespan. I hope games developers figure that out by the end of the wii lifespan too, they usually do (donkey kong country anyone)
I was going to post a whole list of explanations and responses to the topics covered in your reply, but a. I can't be bothered b. it is a free world and mind my language... please mate that isnt offensive have you been in a school playground lately and c. I am sure that you will completely missunderstand and miss-respond as you have already. it's ok i forgive you for being american lmao
ps kof97 was designed for a 6 button arcade joystick not a game controller so that kind of makes you point completely irrelivant
@wesleyh comment 38 & 41 i didn't say the games were revolutionary don't put words into my mouth also, yes all wii games could be ported over to ps3/360 BUT they just wouldn't work without the wiimote mostly wii games are unique and fun, you could say "family orientated" oh wait i did already

i had midnight pool on pc and it was nowhere near as good as this
oh and @calculon again i can play the game on my own pool table in the games shed but thats not the point is it mwahahahaha
