Switch now has the Asus ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go and the Steam Deck OLED as competition and it’s clearly the worst of all three spec wise. Nintendo are coasting on their exclusive, mostly kid-focused titles. Even a review of the Steam Deck says it “Can barely handle the latest AAA releases”. Obviously it’s never going to compete graphically with the PS5 or the Xbox series but it needs a huge leap forward. Nintendo being Nintendo will probably do the bare minimum again. 32GB of memory is a joke. Steam Deck OLED has 512GB.
The fact there are people commenting on this thread that they have both a Steam Deck and a Switch speaks volumes.
All the current gen cross-platform games either aren’t released on Switch or play terribly with horrifically degraded graphics. There have been too many bad ports on this console. Go look at any Digital Foundry review of a Switch port https://youtu.be/oVPPOoTcr_E?si=FF32JPwYVKcom12I
The Switch is popular because of Nintendo exclusives but not everybody cares about those games. It sold well and they made loads of money but they could have made far more if it also played the games released on Xbox and PlayStation in a decent state as a lot of people can only afford to buy one console.
