@Grandiajet you don't need two copies of the game, only the host needs the game, the other player can use the trial version for free, as long as they play with a host that owns the full game, they can play through the whole thing together. If you're using switch, you'll need Switch Online though... same goes for needing Playstation's subscription for online... only the mobile versions won't be tied to a subscription.
