3/10 Having been a fan of all 4 games over the past 20 years I might be a bit biased.
I was really hoping there would be online matchmaking to play against others (they can still add it if they really want to). The addition of character animations and voice acting is a major+ Andy = Ash Ketchum is a win haha. Another cool thing is the attention of detail for the guns of the infantry like the American M14, Russian PPS-43, German MP-40, and Japanese Type 99.
What really sucks is the sfx BIG TIME. The machineguns/cannons/bombers/etc sound awful.
It's almost 100% copy/paste of the original in terms of campaign maps, ai behavior, bugs that were patched in future games. For instance in Advance Wars 1 the ai loves going out of its way to attack APCs, not moving specific unit until in range (just lure with an infantry). No Leapfrogging with transport units once the unit has moved (not giving multiple infantry +1 movement in the same turn). Also Gold Comet, srs?
