@UpToFourPlayers the first Chocobo racing had a story mode too, like Didsy king racing. The biggest difference being that Chocobo racing was a full blown story.
@Anti-Matter Mario kart 8 was my favorite Mario kart on the Wii U, so I passed up on getting Deluxe for the switch( waiting for 9). Chocobo racing has been a game that peaked my interest on the Ps1 though, looked fun. So, I’m glad it’s getting a sequel; and I’m definitely picking this over Mario kart 8 deluxe( unless Mario kart 9 gets announced )
@MrPerson0 it’s not entirely that though. Sure we can play regular golf( which is always fun ), but the other modes are technically locked behind 2player mode only.
It’s like Mario kart not allowing for four people to participate in battle mode, or Mario party not allowing us to play any of the extra modes. This game literally doesn’t even have any other mode but the main mode.
I’m not saying the game is bad, it was just a bad move not to include that option.
@NorseGamerTommy hey Tommy, I’m not attacking you, but please read through what I have to say and this is for anyone else who comes across this. Although I guess if you prefer the whole screen for yourself, I’ll give you a pass.
But, if 2player split-screen is available; might as well make 4player split-screen. If you can play on hand held mode, then each of the screens during 4player split-screen is much larger than any portable game device.
If games where a bunch of stuff is going on is able to run 4player split screen fine( like racing games for example), then a simple game should be able to also run 4player split screen.
Sadly not everyone can get into online play, I personally use Nintendo as a family and local play device. Not everyone has over $1000.00 to buy four Nintendo switch /lites and four full priced games. Even if everyone in the house had their own switch, there isn’t multiple T.V.s in the house to play docked mode.
I’m not saying they have to have it, it’s just there isn’t any reason not to have it. Especially in 2021, where developers should have mastered it by now. It should always be an option for games like this.

Re: Switch Exclusive Chocobo GP Sure Wants To Be Mario Kart, Doesn't It?
@BlackenedHalo Crash Team racing is definitely a good game, but it has the biggest learning curve I’ve ever seen in a kart racer.

@jtmnm I’d live it on the PS4, and I think the fans of the original would like that too.

Yes and no. At the moment I’m not gonna use it, but there’s gonna be sometime in the future where I have a gathering and it would be good to have.
4player split screen can be a hinderance to some, but can also be the best thing for others. I wish developers knew that.
