@Darlinfan @Darlinfan Im more saying that's why people have a distaste for peta. It has alot to do propaganda by that group CFC.

It's in vogue to hate on peta. Even the news does it. Lots of YouTubers do it for attention. But the general public knows little about animals. We live in an attention based economy, it explains pets actions, the cfcs, people who hate on peta. All of it.

Like, I know from first hand experience dogsled racing is rotten to the core and it should be illegal. If people knew what I knew and have seen what I've seen it would be gone. But it's not that easy. Even though I'm extremely qualified to say this.

Peta has this thing against NIH monkey experiments at the moment. The person who went to them was literally the person I charge of the monkeys. Not some random labtech. Not some peta member. It was the literally person who's job it was to oversee the entire thing. But even a person in her position wasn't able to change anything on her own. She had to go to peta.

People think peta fakes videos and info. They have no need to. People go to them all the time. for example the Texas a and m dog experiments it was a whistleblower who was one of the labtechs. Even police have gone to peta over bad shelter conditions and stuff. Even i thought about going to peta during my time in sled dogs.

But yeah. Everyone hates on everything they do. I know YouTubers who have basically made their careers off bashing peta without actually understanding the issues peta is even talking about. (Like the illuminaughtii, in one of her videos she tells her audience she doesn't think the Iditarod is bad, acts like chick culling isn't real, etc, etc. Basically just acting like peta fabricates everything without doing any research herself)

I'm not vegan. But I'm still am animal activist. Animal racing needs to be banned. Its uglier than you can even imagine. Greyhound racing is banned across most of the us already. My time on racing showed me breeding and training animals to race is basically the same as training them to fight. Fighting and racing are extremely similar in how they work. The training and economy is basically the same. My racing knowledge transfers over.im not joking when I say that Michael Vick would pick dog sled racing up no problem.

If peta comes up in conversation in your life, Ive tried to tell you and give you examples of how peta works and why they are important. They spay and neuter, they have helped get tethering banned on multiple places, they help shelters, they offer end of life services to anyone, they offer counseling to help you be a better per owner, they give people food and toys for their pets, they get dogs off chains. And I my case, I can see they are a important outlet for whistle blowers who see extremely horrible normalized things and wish to help make a change. (Seriously, their sleddog videos are fantastic and super accurate, and they have done loads of damage to the Iditarod by going after it's sponsors)

@Darlinfan the fact everyone dislikes peta doesn't mean anything. They have and continue to do lots of good.

As for overthinking WHY people dislike peta, that's actually pretty interesting for many reasons. There's a front group called "center for consumer freedom" that spends alot of time and money bashing peta, it goes pretty deep. Peta really isn't shady or bad.

I worked in dog sled racing. It's awful what goes on, peta has almost killed the Iditarod. Animal racing really is very messed up and should be illegal.

I have worked at a zoo, on farms, dog racing, training kennels, and an exotic animal rescue. I just know alot about animals. I used to dislike peta like most people. But time and experience have made me see where they are coming from, and all the good they do. How serious these issues truly are. Dog sled racing is hell and peta's work on the Iditarod is very accurate.
