Re: Investor Who Urged Nintendo To Monetise Mario's Jumps Acquires Shares In Kadokawa

@Olliemar28 We are are seeing more companies enter the gaming space that don’t have an ounce of joy for gaming. It’s to maximize profits, that’s it. No integrity and utter lack of respect for the art form. I’m all about wealth if it comes from passion, creativity, and wanting to see the gaming community enjoy their creations, but greed is a different level, and this company can’t wait to practice it. Between heavy Saudi involvement in EA, Microsoft laying off teams left and right due to their incompetence, or businesses like this article introduces us too, it’s a shame.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (7th March)

LilKinopio

I’m playing The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for the first time. I had a feeling that Nintendo would offer a significant upgrade for the Switch 2, and when I initially played it on my OLED 55” TV, it looked quite poor, and didn’t run well. My goal was to start during the winter season, but where I live we have not seen the usual colder weather. I have put it off too long and today is the day! I’m horribly excited, I know what waits for me, and Breath of the Wild is my favorite game of all time.🕹️

Re: Review: Pokémon Pokopia (Switch 2) - One Of The Most Enticing Pokémon Games Ever

"Waiting around for certain buildings and materials slows progress."

And that is one of various reason regarding slow progress vs game like Stardew Valley that prevented me from enjoying Animal Crossing. I will still try this, but I was a bet hesitant based on previews (which every single one I listened to really was impressed by this game) regarding a bit of a slower game like Animal Crossing.

Re: UK Charts: Mario Tennis Fever Gets Lobbed By Old Favourites

LilKinopio

@ParsnipHero But Mario Aces' single players was abhorrently shallow. We are not comparing poor to really poor. Nintendo has clearly lost their way regarding sport games when it comes to the depth of single player mode, and to tack on $70 for this game as well is not the greatest look.

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate The Nintendo Classics Virtual Boy Launch Games?

LilKinopio

@Kiyata For they are an entertainment company and not necessarily purely a gaming company. That trend has been around since they started in Japan by making playing cards, to new offerings like Alarmo. They've done it well since the 80's when their gaming consoles took hold, and I doubt that offerings like the Virtual Boy are taking away that much from potential releases you are speaking of, though I get it as well - we all want the games we want, quickly as possible.

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate The Nintendo Classics Virtual Boy Launch Games?

LilKinopio

@SplatRay001 Overall? No. I'm sure many NSO members will give the games a go, but I have a strong feeling the time will be short spent.

Regarding the $100 Virtual Boy hardware option, I was listening to Giant Bombcast's podcast and NVC (IGN's Nintendo Podcast), and even those teams had maybe one person from each podcast who bought the hardware, and all state this is for the Nintendo freaks of all freaks, and even then have to be of a certain age, such as 40 or older. I am 45, and can vividly remember when it came out, and never understood how it even made it into stores. It's a very poor experience. It's not portable, you have to sit down and lean in to play it, and seeing red all the time is quite torturous in my opinion, at least it was on my eyes. Saying that, one of the reasons why I love Nintendo are examples like this. They are stubborn, they do what they want, and here they are bringing into the fold in 2026, a absolute failure of a gaming machine.

Re: Pokémon Pinball Machine Officially Revealed By Stern Pinball, Available Now

LilKinopio

Believe it was IGN's GameScoop podcast that stated this brand of pinball has really positioned itself well within the technology available these days, and really stirs up the want to play these, and continue to play. You have the pinball machine scan a QR code on your phone, and that keeps your statistics, record, and will even notify you of a new challenge for that particular game table, which means you can go down to your local store that weekend and tackle that quest etc. Silverball will always be a fan of mine, ever since my dad introduced me to it over 35 years ago. I'm glad it's holding on in some physical form.

Re: Opinion: This Is The First Game That's Come Close To Rivalling The Best Paper Mario

LilKinopio

I haven’t ever played Paper Mario: TTYD or SUPER Mario RPG, but recently bought both remakes on cartridge for my Switch 2. When looking up opinions and reviews on both in comparison, I was surprised that the majority put Paper Mario: TTYD first. I knew it had had a lot of love, but always heard about Mario: RPG growing up and playing it someday was so dang important. People really, really, love Paper Mario: TYYD!

Re: Reminder: Switch 2's New Joy-Con Set Is Out This Week

LilKinopio

@stephenstig Considering they are a different colorway and people are buying them to swap them out for what they currently own, I don't' think this is going to pass your litmus test. I am hoping to adopt them for I love the new colorway, and sell mine, not costing me too much in the end.

Re: Review: Mario Tennis Fever (Switch 2) - Slim For Singles, But An Addictive Core Gives It Online Legs

LilKinopio

I struggle with a game obtaining the label of Good or a score of 8/10, when the cons mention how poor of a game this is for solo players and campaign content. I miss the days so dang badly, when Nintendo Sport games provided great campaigns, content, and RPG elements for solo players. Considering how lacking Nintendo is regarding online functionally, I find it even more complexing that solo play appears to no longer be a focus point for them.
