@Olliemar28 We are are seeing more companies enter the gaming space that don’t have an ounce of joy for gaming. It’s to maximize profits, that’s it. No integrity and utter lack of respect for the art form. I’m all about wealth if it comes from passion, creativity, and wanting to see the gaming community enjoy their creations, but greed is a different level, and this company can’t wait to practice it. Between heavy Saudi involvement in EA, Microsoft laying off teams left and right due to their incompetence, or businesses like this article introduces us too, it’s a shame.
@eaglebob345 Remember back in the day in where Q1 never offered any games, or hardly at all? Now the entire year has multiple solid offering each month of the year. We are living the best time for gaming ever.
Capcom is on fire right now. They seem to not miss, and now they have Pragmata being moved up a week or two for they know it’s going to be good and ready. Other AAA publishers should take note on their ways and how they are achieving this.🕹️
I’m playing The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for the first time. I had a feeling that Nintendo would offer a significant upgrade for the Switch 2, and when I initially played it on my OLED 55” TV, it looked quite poor, and didn’t run well. My goal was to start during the winter season, but where I live we have not seen the usual colder weather. I have put it off too long and today is the day! I’m horribly excited, I know what waits for me, and Breath of the Wild is my favorite game of all time.🕹️
"Waiting around for certain buildings and materials slows progress."
And that is one of various reason regarding slow progress vs game like Stardew Valley that prevented me from enjoying Animal Crossing. I will still try this, but I was a bet hesitant based on previews (which every single one I listened to really was impressed by this game) regarding a bit of a slower game like Animal Crossing.
@ParsnipHero But Mario Aces' single players was abhorrently shallow. We are not comparing poor to really poor. Nintendo has clearly lost their way regarding sport games when it comes to the depth of single player mode, and to tack on $70 for this game as well is not the greatest look.
Once again begging Nintendo to listen to a large base of their sport game playing fans, and bring back a deeper one player experience with RPG elements. I also find it wild that it's a $70 game.
To this day I can hardly ever tell a difference in these side-by-side video comparisons. Watching on my laptop at 2160/60fps. I am sure it's better, and 60fps is great for any game, but man, jealous of those who can see it easily. I will just trust other commenters.
@Kiyata For they are an entertainment company and not necessarily purely a gaming company. That trend has been around since they started in Japan by making playing cards, to new offerings like Alarmo. They've done it well since the 80's when their gaming consoles took hold, and I doubt that offerings like the Virtual Boy are taking away that much from potential releases you are speaking of, though I get it as well - we all want the games we want, quickly as possible.
"Nintendo isn't a video game company, it's a firm that always tries to propose new fun." - Miyamoto
@SplatRay001 Overall? No. I'm sure many NSO members will give the games a go, but I have a strong feeling the time will be short spent.
Regarding the $100 Virtual Boy hardware option, I was listening to Giant Bombcast's podcast and NVC (IGN's Nintendo Podcast), and even those teams had maybe one person from each podcast who bought the hardware, and all state this is for the Nintendo freaks of all freaks, and even then have to be of a certain age, such as 40 or older. I am 45, and can vividly remember when it came out, and never understood how it even made it into stores. It's a very poor experience. It's not portable, you have to sit down and lean in to play it, and seeing red all the time is quite torturous in my opinion, at least it was on my eyes. Saying that, one of the reasons why I love Nintendo are examples like this. They are stubborn, they do what they want, and here they are bringing into the fold in 2026, a absolute failure of a gaming machine.
Didn't know it had mouse mode. I will try that out soon, and hope to see more implementation of the mouse feature in more games. I would hate to see it go wayside.
Absolutely appreciate developers who offer this for Switch 2 owners. I own Subnautica, but was waiting with hope before playing for the first time, this update would be offered. Heck, I would even pay a $1 or two for this if it would truly help out the developer in the long run.
Believe it was IGN's GameScoop podcast that stated this brand of pinball has really positioned itself well within the technology available these days, and really stirs up the want to play these, and continue to play. You have the pinball machine scan a QR code on your phone, and that keeps your statistics, record, and will even notify you of a new challenge for that particular game table, which means you can go down to your local store that weekend and tackle that quest etc. Silverball will always be a fan of mine, ever since my dad introduced me to it over 35 years ago. I'm glad it's holding on in some physical form.
@UpsideDownRowlet Though that would be very cool, but I can't think of a method they could implement in where it would not wear and tear down to a ball that is not attractive or cause other issues. Player for 35 years now, and never seen a pinball that wasn't silver.
@Solid_Python Agreed. I get so very excited when any game, old, new, or remade, comes out for the S2 and it's at least 60FPS/4K/HDR. I still can't get over how good LOZ:TOTK looks on the S2 vs S1. It's a completely different game!
@NPC411 Hmmmmmm, they have sold over 17+ million, breaking records left and right for consoles. It appears you are conflating ease of finding the system for Nintendo was prepared this time from a production standpoint, vs popularity.
@user0 They are not supposed to, but rather the market used to support that action. Due to tariffs, challenges in RAM, and other factors, that way of business practices is long gone for at least the next ten years or so, I would guess.
I don't know how they have not already. With tariffs and now this challenge, the Switch 2 is a good buy for the current price point. Adjusted for inflation, it's only about $50 more than the Switch at launch, almost a decade ago.
I haven’t ever played Paper Mario: TTYD or SUPER Mario RPG, but recently bought both remakes on cartridge for my Switch 2. When looking up opinions and reviews on both in comparison, I was surprised that the majority put Paper Mario: TTYD first. I knew it had had a lot of love, but always heard about Mario: RPG growing up and playing it someday was so dang important. People really, really, love Paper Mario: TYYD!
@stephenstig Considering they are a different colorway and people are buying them to swap them out for what they currently own, I don't' think this is going to pass your litmus test. I am hoping to adopt them for I love the new colorway, and sell mine, not costing me too much in the end.
@WiltonRoots The previous Switch looked like a toy for a child. The new design is fantastic. Color, but sutel. I don't need busy or color screaming in my face.
Who is buying these physical versions that offer purely a code? That alone does not have me want to adopt (though I purchase all games for my Switch if available on cartridge), but the glaring white rectangle of letting you know it's a code really ruins the case as well. I hope this ends soon for physical copies.
I struggle with a game obtaining the label of Good or a score of 8/10, when the cons mention how poor of a game this is for solo players and campaign content. I miss the days so dang badly, when Nintendo Sport games provided great campaigns, content, and RPG elements for solo players. Considering how lacking Nintendo is regarding online functionally, I find it even more complexing that solo play appears to no longer be a focus point for them.
@PikaPhantom Because there are 155 million Switch consoles in the world being played, vs 15+ million of the Switch 2. Good business decision. Not good for Switch 2 owners.

Re: Switch 2 Noir-Fueled Detective FPS 'Mouse: P.I. For Hire' Has Been Slightly Delayed
Hell, compared to other games in development these days, this isn’t even a delay. Especially if it’s solid at release.
It’s quite a unique look & idea. I would be quite happy if it nabbed solid reviews. 🕹️
