@PvtOttobot What, an overzealous thirst for 'decency'?
I get that weak-knee'd politically-correct, half-informed-Christianity-revering America is trying to stifle all forms of expression, out of a misguided sense of cleaning up the world.
But fast-forward here Captain--this isn't the 90's where every video game will purportedly turn your child into a serial murderer, and Nintendo has both a careless policy of pandering to avoid negative reception, 'and' an intent to make money despite their so-called 'family friendly' image. See also why everything they make involves 'killing things' in the least offensive visual presentation possible--except when they're licensing Capcom games, in which case it's just killing things. (See Resident Evil 4 ).
'Relating' to Nintendo in a decision that's going to cost them revenue on a popular title, when they're in the hole, and when they're not consistent in their policies or image anyway, takes some serious brain surgery.
Now, if your point is just 'ban this filth, it hurts my eyes'...
You have two eyes. You have several fingers. Ban your own eyes.
@PvtOttobot If your perspective were the norm, and people refused to publish what was gorey or religiously insensitive, John Carmack might never have founded id Software, or made Doom.
More to the point, Nintendo's argument is flimsy and incongruous, since they already have the Castlevania series staining their pastel shirts and priestly vestments. And in recent history, they're announcing Fatal Frame 5, from a series about creepy religious sacrifices...

@WesCash What's even funnier is that The Binding of Isaac is based on the mechanics of and aesthetically inspired by The Legend of Zelda.
