@Achoo Thanks. A bit disappointing though as i would have expected it to count. Oh well, not too bothered i suppose, as I wasn't going to be buying an 'old' 3ds in the promotion period anyway.

@BensonUii cheers. I saw that but I'm assuming that's because the new3ds isn't released. It doesn't even show in my account yet with the stars.

Anyway I fired an email off to them this morning, but nothing back yet.

For those that have the new 3DS too - had anyone managed to register with club nintendo yet.

There is no PIN and linking accounts via eshop hasnt appeared on my account shop yet, but I'm running out of time for the winter promotion and my free Kirby

Mine arrived a few hours ago - I selected free shipping so I'm more than happy!!

The main overall impression is good:

• Coming from an XL, the different in size isn't as bad as I thought it might be. It's smaller yes, but definitely more usable than the 'old' 3ds .
• Menu speeds are quicker
• 3DS is a massive improvement, and I don;t think I can overstate that enough. I would normally have 3D turned off on my XL - you need to keep your head straight and it goes blurry more often than not. But the face tracking on the N3DS makes it now 99% perfect!! I just played a game of face raiders, with 3DS on full, and it was fantastic. Now, given there is a lot of moving around I thought it would fail a fair bit, but it rarely (and I mean rarely) went out of sync.

I'm going to pop out and collect my SSB3DS from Tesco and give it a proper run though!!

Woah - mines just shipped! Expected delivery is 9th.

I've bought one - would prefer the XL but figure I can always sell it on if I don't get on with the slightly smaller screen.

Edit: btw looks like it ships within 24 hours, so immediately available.
