The core experience can be enjoyed for a reasonable price still. With hardware, a person can reasonably buy Mario Tennis, Mario Clash, Wario Land, Teleroboxer, Galactic Pinball and Golf (so relaxing to me). Don't chase Waterworld or Jack Bros. WW is just an endless high score play that's isn't very refined. JB is a very uninspired top down dungeon crawl to find the key for the next level. Neither of these key titles does anything visually that showcases the VB. Snatcher and PD Saga these two are not!
@Banks Sure, if you have a whole burning in your pocket you will find a unique gaming experience with the original hardware. If I ever found a collection back in my hands I would only take it out of storage to let friends experience it too. One of my fondest gaming memories of 95 was playing and beating Golf. It has one tune that repeats over and over. It was composed to be just catchy enough on a loop. I would simply hope an interested buyer can separate a worthy experience with a unique experience and make an educated decision. Not a huge library but pretty expensive on the in demand side.
Dear Lord, no! I owned a VB in 95 and it was a neat experience but completely forgettable. There isn't a single title that hasn't been done before or after the VB. If you have backups go for it but no one needs to feel left out if they don't have a physical copy and hardware.
I'm certainly not making the case AGAINST backwards compatibility but, on other consoles it certainly has tricked me into spending more during a sale thinking my digital "asset" will be there throughout the generations until I'm ready to play it.
Let's just hope this isn't a n Aquaman again. This feels like another glass cannon. I liked the movie for all it's measurables but non of its intangibles.
@Hemibear I think the console request is a bit much but you hit the nail on the head about other franchises. Glad to see someone appreciate Sonic but stay level headed about other Ips.
The fighter that made me pay attention to SNK. Huge sprites, loud music and easy to understand controls hooked me. Hasn't aged well but a classic for those early days if you are curious.
Spot on review. The high score chase really works for this game and extends my sessions. Hamster did a great job of adding value to otherwise disposable games.

Re: Random: This Super Mario Maker 2 Fan Spent Seven Years Crafting 'Super Mario Bros. 5'
Kids who read gaming magazines in 90/91 truly appreciate the history of calling it Super Mario Bros. 5!
