Yeah, the physical is loaded with everything that this review complains is missing. This is a fantastic collection. There are seven versions of each game, plus three versions of Demon's World. This review should have been clearer about the difference between digital and physical. Looks like the digital costs about $27, and my physical was $51.99. For a shmup fan, $50 for a loaded cart seems completely reasonable.
I can't believe Nintendo Life continues to sleep on this game. Rain World is one of the best video games of recent years. It distills the lone hero platforming adventure super-genre to its bleak existential essence. I tend to love the exploratory adventures that get grouped under the Metroidvania label. Rain world gets me closer to the disconsolate atmospheric vibe of the original Metroid than any other game I've played. 10/10 for me.
I'd add A Robot Named Fight! to the list. It mixes some roguelite elements into framework inspired by Super Metroid with pretty satisfying results. (As much as I love Dead Cells--which is LOTS--I think Robot Named Fight does a better job of really hybridizing these styles.) Plus it has lots of mutant alien gore. YMMV, but the somewhat randomized nature of roguelites really keeps me coming back in a way that more traditional metroidvanias don't anymore.
Can't wait. I have a semi-toxic relationship with this game now, playing for hours and hours even though I've seen most of what it has to offer. It's a sad compulsion. DLC will allow me to continue my behavior pattern without feeling like I am stuck in a dead-end relationship. Who said games are an escape from real life?
One of my favorite indies on the Switch, and one of my favorite roguelites ever. I've put in more than 120 hours, and would gladly come rushing back for DLC, new weapons, and new monsters. 60 fps would be nice, but any frame rate drops I've experienced up until now didn't really deter me from playing.
No need for a sequel. I've put about 80 hours in on this game already, and I can foresee spending plenty more. A good roguelite (and I think Dead Cells is the best since Isaac) has tons of replay built in to the formula.
Two is the worst of the souls games for me. It lacks the level and creature design that made the first so memorable. The third recovered the vibe to some degree, but still can't match the eerie gothic atmosphere of the first Dark Souls.

Re: Dead Cells Switch Update Adds 60fps And Custom Game Support
I can attest that, after the update, the frame rate in handheld still dips significantly rather often.
