@norwichred It appears there is some misinformation about Microsoft buying Rare and killing the games so just wanna clear up a few points to you and other members.
Microsoft bought Rare because they needed child-friendly games to attract children to their console. It wasn't really Microsoft's fault they exclusively attracted dude bros a older male demographic who just wanted to shoot things gritty mature games. (Hence why LOG made that quote in the intro of Nuts & Bolts)
Nintendo owned 49% of shares and didn't buy out Rare when they had the chance. Nintendo claims they didn't know they were for sale apparently they did know and were not willing to buy Rare for their asking amount. but how do you not know your biggest money maker for the N64 is for sale while simultaneously working with them on Starfox Adventures/Dinosaur Planet?
Only one Microsoft employee thought they owned Donkey Kong. Nobody else did except that one guy.
All of Rare's games after the buyout flopped because they could not adapt to the new teenage market. All their games were built with Nintendo in mind. Their only commercial successes were Viva Pinata, Kinect Sports and Sea of Thieves.
Several at Rare Rare assumed their fanbase was switch over to Xbox from Nintendo. That's on them. Not Microsoft.
Rare's mismanagement and unwillingness to consistently work on one project is the fault of Rare. Microsoft was fairly hands-off which wasn't a good thing since Rare couldn't keep focus. Nintendo gave Rare structure because they were extremely hands on.
After several commercial flops Microsoft reorganized the company on 2010 2007 fired Rare's old management and Stamper bros as well as a few others all left. Now the new managers only focus one game at a time.
Kinect Sports brought Rare out of their malicious work-cycle of only breaking even. But obviously they focused too much on Kinect sports because they came out with several sequels which all flopped.
Sea of Thieves and Everwild are their newest games and they're consistently working with other companies on Legacy IP. They're not the same company they used to be, they have rebranded changed their logo twice. Old Rare is gone. Rare isn't dead.
Old Rare exists in spirit with these former employees working in these companies: Playtonic Games(Banjo/DKC team), Gorey Detail(Conker/Killer instinct team), Chameleon Games(DK64/Jet Force Gemini team)(Nevermind it's only one guy).
@Debbiee AHIT was a masterpiece but don't expect any male gamers to acknowledge that because it had a female lead which means it is overlooked and discredited like most games that don't have a male lead.

@norwichred What are you doing on a Nintendo website if you think Nintendo are evil?

Re: Xbox Acknowledges Fan Requests For New Banjo-Kazooie Game
@Uncle_Franklin I never played that one because my parents couldn't afford to buy me a handheld console. Was it any good?
Re: Xbox Acknowledges Fan Requests For New Banjo-Kazooie Game
Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie were two of my favorite video games growing up. I would kill for another one.
