Re: Talking Point: The State of Play of the Virtual Console

I believe that Nintendo should be releasing more VC games per week. Even when we were getting three games a week that wasn't enough. Now one or two a week is simply ridiculous.

It has to be astoundingly easy and cheap for Nintendo to put these games out. I think that they're making a big financial blunder by not putting out more games. Simply put, the more games they put out there, the more money they'll make. Now I'm not saying that they should release every single game at once, but an increase to the vicinity of 5-7 games a week would be nice.

I've heard the arguments that Nintendo will make more money if they release bad games first so that people will buy them while they're waiting for better games, but just speaking for myself, this policy doesn't work. I have only bought the games (22 of them so far) that I really wanted from the beginning.

And I suspect (and I know that there will be a few exceptions) that the majority of the people who are saying that we VC-gamers are spoiled are the people who haven't downloaded as many games as I have and are just less interested in the VC in general.

So Nintendo, if you're listening, please release more VC games so that your most loyal customers, like myself, who have owned all five of your consoles will be appeased. Finally, I know Nintendo doesn't "owe" us anything, but it would sure be nice.

For those who don't know: There is an option to speed up gameplay! On the main screen, after you press start, but before you select super battle, vs. battle, etc...push right on the D-pad 1, 2, or 3 times and you will see 1, 2, or 3 stars appear. 3 stars represents the fastest gameplay.

I really thought we were going to get Super Street Fighter 2: The New Challengers today. Street Fighter 2 came out last Christmas, Hyper Fighting came out on June 25 (exactly 6 months later), and today would have been another 6 months. Plus Japan got it last week. Hopefully we'll get it next week. Any thoughts?
