I think that's a great result for Fire Emblem. Considering the last few 3DS releases have struggled to make an impact on the UK charts, I think Nintendo will be quite pleased with this result. There's life in the old dog yet!
"Killing the 3DS" would be an absurd move. It's a more affordable option for those that can't afford a Switch (or don't want one) with a steady stream of games yet to be released. Not only that but the production costs for Nintendo to make 3DS games are likely only a fraction of the cost of producing a top tier Switch game.
Where in the quote does it say GBA games are coming to 3DS? It mentions them coming but not which console. Nintendo themselves confirmed GBA games were coming to Wii U in a Nintendo Direct last summer and have mentioned they have "no plans" to release them for the 3DS so I would take this with a grain of salt while we wait for more info.
When it was revealed, I thought the name "Wii U" was bad enough. And then Nintendo went the extra step and made the console look almost identical to the Wii. Friends of mine were already a bit confused at the time thinking that the 3DS was just a DS but in "glorious 3D!" And for Nintendo to go and make the exact same mistake with the Wii U left me flabbergasted. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets a makeover down the road.
Will definitely be picking up Mario World and Picross. By far the 2 best games getting released tomorrow. Quite surprised Europe is getting a game before the US though, not that I'm complaining of course!
