@invictus4000 Uh, even though I'm gay I could still have children with a woman. Not being able to reproduce with the people I love doesn't make me infertile.
Besides, there's this thing called adoption? And all in all adopting a child is better for society at whole than making one, there's no shortage of children in the world.
But yeah, I'm sure that nations will be destroyed because there's more love and less hate in the world, that makes sense. And considering all the horrible things happening in the world, I really doubt that if whatever god you believe in gets off his lazy bum and starts doing anything that it will be smiting nations for their lack of persecution. He's been pretty absent when it comes to destroying cities and nations these last 2000 years. 😊
Not surprising since they haven't done anything with online before. And also it seems like it works fine. I really like the fact that you can do all the squad missions with your normal party members as well. Forced multiplayer content in mainly singleplayer games are.. mehhh.
It's lame that only specific games can be entered into their program, but other than that I care not a single gram about any of these things.
Also I find most of the "prominent" youtubers to be pretty annoying frankly. And any potential sympathy from me is lost when one of them deletes/hides the video he uploaded because monetization got turned off. I mean, really? At least pretend that you don't do it solely for the money, honestly.
The one from 2012 is freaking three years old, of course a cutscene has changed in this time. Especially seeing as the first one was probably not from normal gameplay.
The graphics everywhere else except for this cutscene has improved since then though, so I still don't see how this is newsworthy for either NLife or Kotaku lol. A more serious comparison would be in order if so.
@liveswired Yes, I think they held back the OS quite severely by using the slow ass NAND storage they afaik are using. Skimping on the size is one thing, but if I remember right games installed on an external hard drive load faster than ones installed internally... Which is kinda ridiculous.
And yes, SSDs are a godsend. Especially in fighting games I must say, loading each stage in MKX in literally two seconds is amazing. Buying a 500g SSD when I upgraded my GPU was a pretty good idea.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSE_l9baH2w ^English subbed video, though only the narration is subbed. Full translation is later this week afaik. If anyone was interested. Contains clarification on some things that were kinda vague in this article.
Like with the 32 people thing. This "squad" gets specific tasks that appear in the bottom-right corner (one of them being kill "x" amount of "y" monster here), when one of these is completed a squad quest becomes available. These are more difficult assignments that you can try. You can join someone elses group, or invite them to your own when you're attempting these. Or alternatively, you can do it with your normal companions (Elma, Lyn etc.). Things like squad quests increase "global Conquest Development". When this increases World Bosses can awaken.
@Peach64 Physical media is certainly holding back consoles, but that unfortunately includes standard hard-drives. Loading times nowadays from discs on Wii U, or the hard drives on the Xbone, PS4 and PC are ridiculous compared to what they were 10 years ago.
When it comes to loading times on modern games, anything short of loading from an SSD leads to anything from long to ridiculously long loading times.
What I'm really wondering about these data packs however is how having all of them will compare to a straight up digital copy. Will it be equal? Or, if they did this really well, will it be better? Seeing as it could have accessed both the Wii U's NAND/USB Drive and the disc at the same time.
Reporting it to the police and social services? What?
Granted, I have no idea how the UK works with things like this, but around here (and as it should be anywhere) ratings are guidelines and nothing more. A game rated 18+ may be perfectly suitable to one 8 year old, and not suitable whatsoever for another. Kids are as different as adults, and it's sad that in many cases this is not accounted for.
Playing for example Postal 2 as a 6 year old didn't impact me in any negative fashion whatsoever. I'd rather say the opposite actually.
Though it is true that plenty of parents are neglectful, and don't know what they're really letting their kids access, this is going too far honestly.
Too bad they didn't just find a kid that was actually good at smash instead.
@seb5049 Well, ratings for games and movies are just guidelines, not strict rules. Most people don't care whatsoever unless they're really Christian parents or something.
Feels like they would fit right at home on the TV even here where I live as well. Which is a plus. (Not that there will ever be any commercials for smash on TV here(not that i really watch normal television anymore anyway))
@Sportsfan1712 Online multiplayer has been a disaster on the Wii U? Uhm. what.
I'm not that big on online multiplayer (if I want that It's usually just Heroes of Newerth/other pc games), but the online in MK8 has been fantastic for me so far. Of course there's plenty of areas they could improve, like, it being easier inviting a friend to play with you for example, but I'd hardly call it a disaster.
Chances are Brawl for Wii U will still be quite laggy though, that is, if you don't invest in a lan adapter. Wifi is just unfit for fighters, on all consoles. Wish the U had an ethernet port from the getgo.
One of the only things that makes me consider buying a PS4 down the line is the fact that fighters like Mortal Kombat and Tekken most likely will skip the Wii U.
So they believe this mainly since 40% didn't have a PS+ account?
How does that make sense? It wasn't mandatory for online, and while the "free" games were nice, most people I know didn't really care for it. I still have a PS3 that I have rarely used for anything short of Mortal Kombat/Tekken/Ratchet & Clank.
I'm pretty sure this has less to do with Wii owners buying a PS4 than Xbox 360 owners doing so, and the fact that the plethora of shooter players "need" PS+ now.
I'll probably get one myself down the line though. In like.. 4 years. When the amount of exclusives can justify the then reduced price. It's really great that they went x86 this gen for me, since I can just play most of the games on PC. While before there were plenty of console-only multiplats.
I figure it's because the Wii U isn't really able to do it in its current form.
More features are always good, so it would've been nice if it was included in the package.
Personally I don't give a rats donkey about it.
Watching random people play games over the internet seems reallyyyyyy pointless and boring to me. It's just as boring as watching Sports on TV, aka, really boring.
@Gma-X Yeah, I have no problem being bombarded with items. As long as people don't waste them on me, while I'm already tumbling and moving at 0 km/h. And subsequently lessen their chances of actually bringing the guys in front down.
@Gma-X Could be. Or a bug. Most likely it's because of network lag, so for all I know he could've "officially" been in first place.
Lag happens all the time at the finishing line at least. Like, coming in 3rd, and then suddenly two other people blink ahead of you after you're over the line and you get 6th.
@ChrisT99 Perfect combo depends. If you're usually in the lead, speed > everything. If you're usually in the middle to upper middle of the pack acceleration is really important (and weight).
Basically what I see as the perfect combo is as much speed and weight that you can get, while still keeping handling high enough that you can do close drifts around the edges of the track. So this depends upon the player in question.
The best combos for myself that I've found are pretty simple.
As Rosalina: The Flame Rider, Slick Wheels, and a heavy glider.
Peach/Daisy: Circuit Special, Slick Wheels, and a heavy glider once again.
With Luigi I just go the catmobile, slick and heavy glider. That's just because it looks silly and I like that.
Similarly with Peach I often go with the Flame Rider opposed to the Circuit Special simply because I prefer the way she looks and animates on a bike.
I've tried it at a friend's, and It's not something I'm going to buy. Neither on PC or Wii U.
It's just .. mediocre. Dull. If you're a gigantic fan of the "normal" gameplay in GTA it might be a good game too you. But the only thing I find fun in GTA is trying to break the physics.
I hope that this is actually a decent clone. I've been longing for a new bomberman game for years, but all the recent ones I've tried haven't been that good.
Honestly, whenever me and my friends need to scratch that Bomberman itch we play one of the snes ones (that's only available in Japanese iirc) on an emulator. It's bomberman 5 or something, the one with the bunny-mount-thingamabobs.
@AhabSpampurse "I'm almost thinking that unless you have it the game will struggle to run 60fps online wirelessly."
Struggle to run 60fps online? What? The game won't render at a lower rate because you use wireless. The reason he's mentioning it, is probably in case people expect it to lag much less than Brawl. There'll be improvement, I'm sure, but playing online wirelessly in games as fast paced as Smash is usually a pretty bad idea.
If you don't want noticeable delay when playing online, use a cable, not wireless. Fighting games do not like wireless.
Just as an example, when I was trying to play Mortal Kombat online against my friend, who lives just over the fjord. It lagged like hell. We were both on wireless, it was almost unplayable. So I plugged in Ethernet instead, and it was more than smooth enough for us after that.
@Einherjar League of Legends has an "okay" way of doing F2P. As in, everything is accessible without paying a dime, but you'll get it faster if you do. But accessing said stuff doesn't make you inherintly more powerful in anyway. It just gives you more options.
If there's a best way to do F2P and microtransactions it's either Heroes of Newerth (all microtransactions are purely cosmetic), or Path of Exile (almost purely cosmetic, except you can buy stash tabs which are a convenience, as you can just make more characters to use as mules).
If all F2P titles followed that scheme, I wouldn't be worried whatsoever about the trend of going F2P, that is, sadly, not the case though.
Censored music is about the most ridiculous and annoying thing ever.
Censoring also often makes things sound, or look, worse than it actually is. This depends on the type of censoring used, but still.
It's so annoying, trying to find that one song you have plastered unto your brain at the moment, only to realize the edition you found is censored most of the time ruining the rhythm and what not.
Meh, I don't get the extreme hype for GTA V. I played San Andreas a lot when I was younger, but It certainly doesn't draw my attention as much as it did back then. I still find the same parts of it fun, but not enough.
Basically, GTA is only entertaining to me in a few ways. Mostly screwing around with the physics, and the occasional chain car explosion. Other than a small amount of that, nothing really grips me about these games anymore.
I get what they're saying and why, but It's of little matter to me. Bethesda games are horrible on consoles compared to how they are on PC anyway. In my opinion at least.
Buying games digitally is almost always more expensive than buying it on disc. At least in my experience, especially if the game was released some time ago. Might just be here where I live it's like that though, I don't know.
In any case, It's silly that a cheaper way of distribution is often more expensive for the consumer.
I don't really care much about what EA does. The only games they publish that are even moderately interesting is BioWare's games, and those have taken a down turn lately. Besides, I'd much prefer playing Inquisition on my PC, that is, if it's anything like DA:O and not the wannabe-themepark-MMO-button-spam-fest that DA2 was.
The only other thing I care about from them is The Sims 4, but considering what a disappointment TS3 was, I'm not getting my hopes up. At least Maxis is back in the drill again.
Looks awesome! I prefer Paper Mario over Mario & Luigi, though. Here's hoping a Paper Mario game for the Wii U will be announced before I'm done with this when I eventually get a 3DS.
Definitively not looking forward to that, as in, I don't care whatsoever. I've tried Angry Birds on my Galaxy briefly, and it was eye-clawingly boring. I'd much rather have a port of Punch Quest, let the birds be angry somewhere else.
How is Red Thread Games "best known" for The Longest Journey? The Longest Journey, and its "kind-of-sequel-but-not-quite" Dreamfall were both made by Funcom. Granted, Ragnar Tørnquist was the "mastermind" behind both of those, but it was still made by Funcom.
Also, Dreamfall Chapters is a direct sequel to Dreamfall.
Anyway, as for the prospect on Dreamfall Chapters on Wii U, I'd love that. Having a game in actual Norwegian on the Wii U would be awesome. There's so few of those for any console or PC, for good reason, but still.
I really don't care at all. Apart from the fact that more third-party games are positive, even if i want to get them or not.
I love Bethesda games, though. At least, kind of. Pretty much all of their latest games are "mediocre" in my opinion.
The thing that makes these games wonderful for me though, is all the mods. Which fixes most things Bethesda ain't good at. Which is pretty much everything except: Lore, Exploration, and World Building. Which is why I can't fathom why people rate these games as amazing when they're playing them on consoles.
Any Bethesda game without unofficial fixes, or even the console to cure general buggy-ness of it all would be horrible.

Re: Bethesda Has No Current Plans For Wii U or Handhelds
