Re: Feature: Behind The Music Of Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition

@Shambo I'm half an hour in, And right now, I'm tearing my hair out because they ruined the intro, with no option to use the original sound track, and they added horrid voice acting. And it was nearly half an hour before I could even access the options menu so I could turn it off and be horribly disappointed by the fact that you have to use this new sound track. I had it muted until I could turn off the voices, so I'll find out how the rest of it is. But based on the intro... I'm not looking forward to this now. This, which should have been a brilliant return to the past. It looks like they've "remastered" all the parts they shouldn't have, all the parts I prayed they would leave alone, and didn't touch anything that would have been nice to have updated to modern standards.

@PJOReilly During the first phase, You do not need to shoot him in order for him to reach gold. He will eventually go into the large blast after a certain amount of time, or if you counter him on a different move. And once he is gold, he can only be damaged during the counters.

You are also right about the missiles and the orb, I had been unlucky in that they had always hit me before being destroyed by the 4th missile before. Unfortunately, the game never mentions that the storm missiles are weaker than regular missiles, despite using more.

I have to say, this fight is the straw that broke the camel's back for me. This fight is antithetical to the series' design philosophy. Mercury steam does not understand metroid. I thought they did for the 3/4 of dread, and I enjoyed it. But I cannot overstate just how horrible this last portion is.

As far as this guide goes, you should perhaps mention how he cannot be damaged in any way except for countering him when he is glowing gold in the first phase, and can only be damaged during that counter (meaning it can take a few counters to get it done), thus pigeon holing players into only one way of approaching the boss, instead of using their literal arsenal of weapons, and how he has melee attacks that cannot be countered. And what are you talking about, the black orb taking 4 shots? It can take 5 full storm missile barrages and not break, over a dozen regular beam shots, 5 regular missiles, or 2 charge beam shots (all I ever had time to get in on it), and not break. The only reliable method I found was dropping a super bomb.
