I think the community knows that fully baked is better than on time so publishers and developers accept the need for delays.
This is fueled by online/game pass/Plus services as well as game backlogs and digital games fairly priced.
That is to say, If I can't play the new thing now I'll play those 'old' new things I'm also excited about, the advantage being they cost less are tried, tested and updated.
That said my gaming is never socially driven and I don't value how 'current' a game is when choosing.
