I have yet to see a game on other major platforms that would be impossible to run on the Switch with some compromises. I think people put too much value in the number of polygons and pixels on screen. I'm fairly confident that if you took the same level of graphical quality from last gen and just upped the resolution a little, most people would be fine with it. Is GTA V a completely different game on the PS4/XB1 then it is on the PS3/360? There may be an extra thing here or there, but I doubt anyone seriously plays in first person mode regularly.
Point is most people who say a game can't run on the Switch is either a publisher who just doesn't want to put in some effort or trolls on the internet.
I actually don't like gyro aiming on Splatoon. Maybe it's improved since I last played, but I hated how it was set up and was basically unplayable for me. I'm fine with no gyro controls in Fortnite.
I keep hearing that it's not technically possible for it to run on the Switch and then never explain why as if that's all that needs to be said. Is it graphics? Those can be toned down. Is it the fact that there is no loading between zones? I don't see how, but if someone wants to explain why please do. What am I missing that makes it "not technically possible" for it to work?
Quick edit, I'm not complaining that it's not on the Switch right now. I get it. Development started ages ago and it wouldn't have been easy for them to get a small team going to port it to the Switch when they did learn about it/get dev kits. My issue is just people saying "it's impossible" without explaining why. I personally am probably going to get it on PC assuming no surprise announcement occurs between now and then regarding a Switch version.
This isn't a day one purchase for me... But only because I had to pay rent and I can't get it till this time next week (yay being an adult!). I never got to play it before, and I'm quite looking forward to it.
