SoA was an excellent JRPG game for its time. I am one of the few that loved the random encounters, some games are just structured to not be a walk in the park adventure.
FFVIII had a trading card battle mini-game that was unique, while SoA had the excellent turn-based battle-engine using tiles instead of cards for the firing the Canons of the Airships. Amazingly fun and intense once you understood the mechanics.
I purchased SoA, both the Dreamcast and the Gamecube versions and still have them in my collection. Just waiting for the Switch version now. Wont be coming out for at least 2 years but will come out, even if it does get unofficially ported but Im hoping for an official release of the digital-only game.
