Re: Nintendo Download: 3rd November (Europe)

To those who are wondering where the physical copy for Sega 3D Classics Collection is being sold in the UK, it's available at Argos (for £24.99, same as eShop). It's supposedly an Argos exclusive according to a rather quiet reply to a comment on Sega Europe's Twitter account. Confusing as to why it's only on Argos, but it's better than it being an eShop exclusive.

Re: Poll: Vote For Your Ten Must-Play Games On Nintendo 3DS

1BrightGamer

I would have added Rhythm Thief Phantom Detective if the option was available. Highly underrated game in my opinion. But here are my picks from the list given (in no particular order).

Mario Kart 7
Luigi's Mansion 2
TLoZ: A Link Between Worlds
Kid Icarus Uprising
Kirby Triple Deluxe
Animal Crossing New Leaf
Fire Emblem Awakening
Star Fox 64 3D
Tomodachi Life
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS

Hoping there will be a list similar to this but with eShop releases (e.g. Shovel Knight, Mighty Switch Force).

Re: Video: Does Super Mario Galaxy 2 On Wii U Offer Anything New?

1BrightGamer

This may be out of context, but I thought it was worth asking with the recent announcement of Club Nintendo shutting down later this year.

Does anyone know if you get Stars for Club Nintendo by downloading Mario Galaxy 2 on the Wii U eShop? Or do they treat it like other Virtual Console games and not add Stars at all?

Re: Club Nintendo to Close, With Replacement Loyalty Programme Coming Later in the Year

Even with its faults and all, I loved Club Nintendo ever since being introduced to it during the Wii era. I found the concept of completing surveys for games and getting the chance to obtain exclusive physical items (e.g. CDs, Figurines, even a Game and Watch) very gratifying and encouraging to purchase more of Nintendo's products. Although, the decline of particular products and ranks in certain regions has shown the service was showing its age.

I'm at least happy we will still be getting a few more products and more time to earn and spend our Stars/Coins before the service's end. At least it's not an abrupt last minute announcement and that there is a successor in the works. I'm looking forward to Flipnote 3D (about time) and future rewards, though I'll be already content if Mewtwo and the Smash Bros Soundtrack CDs will be my last rewards.

I'll agree with the number of you that are hoping for a more unified account system with Club Nintendo's successor. That should hopefully make things FAR more streamlined and efficient for Nintendo's systems before we approach the next console generation. I would want it only to feel safer and encouraged in buying more retail downloads (e.g. Mario 3D World, Wind Waker HD etc.).

Farewell Club Nintendo! It's been a fun few years! Here's hoping your successor will build upon what experiences Nintendo has learned.

Thought it may be worth noting that the 'New Nintendo 3DS' and 'New 'Nintendo 3DS XL' systems will NOT be registerable for Stars/Coins (unless it comes with bundled with a game, e.g. Majora's Mask, Monster Hunter 4). So you don't HAVE to buy and register one of the 'New' systems to get extra points before the service's end, unless you would like to get one of the aforementioned bundles.

Re: Review: LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (Wii U)

1BrightGamer

Does anyone know if Lego Batman 3 keeps the dual screen co-op feature (using both the Gamepad and TV screen for each player) from previous Wii U versions? If so, does it perform any better, worse or just the same?

The dual screen co-op is the main reason that I tend to buy the Wii U versions of Traveller's Tale's Lego games. I feel it makes it much easier to see yourself and to do more in co-op sessions instead of the typical dynamic split screen.

Re: New Nintendo 3DS Models Announced

1BrightGamer

I recently got a Circle Pad Pro XL not too long ago, and now Nintendo announces the 'New Nintendo 3DS/3DS XL'. Which from what I can tell, pretty much merges the 3DS (XL) and Circle Pad Pro (XL) together in one system. I'm hoping the second circle pad and additional features won't feel too necessary for future software, as I really don't want to invest in another 3DS model.

Although, this is a brilliant concept for newcomers. So I'm sure these systems will sell to some people.

Re: Nintendo Download: 28th August (Europe)

Does anyone know if there will be more Smash Bros themed discounts this week? I haven't heard whether the sales are continuing or if it was a fortnight long deal. If it's still going, I'm hoping for more veteran sales, notably Zelda, Metroid, Yoshi, F-Zero and Star Fox to get representation.

As for this week at hand, it will probably be just the MK8 DLC for me (though it's an obvious choice at this point considering it's free). Though I'm still looking forward to the system update rather than the Mercedes cars. I'll at least try all of the cars once in some local races, but I'm leaving them out in terms of online races. I'm happy with my Yoshi Bike and Sports Coupe, thanks.

Re: Play & Win: Mario Kart 8 Championship - Heat 2 - Today!

1BrightGamer

I finished off with 176 points with one disconnect. That's about roughly my average score when it comes to me racing in 16 race tournaments, so I'm okay with that as a first attempt.

Though I'm still feeling a bit salty after learning that you lose chances of points for every disconnected race. I really hope this issue gets fixed in next week's patch.

Anyway, I'll say congrats to the three winners and I'll see you again in Heat 3.

Re: Super Smash Bros. For 3DS Will Feature A Music Player That Works In Sleep Mode

1BrightGamer

@Captain_Toad Well turns out I've done a goof, then. I recently went back to Kid Icarus Uprising and it turns out that it didn't have sleep mode functionality in its sound player. I don't know what made me think or remember that it did. So, my bad on that one.

Ignoring that goof, listening to Kid Icarus' sound player did also remind me how awesome the soundtrack is and how excited I am to see it referenced in Smash Bros. Any particular tracks people want to see heard in Smash? I'm rooting for 'Lightning Battle' and 'Boss Fight 2'.

Re: Super Smash Bros. For 3DS Will Feature A Music Player That Works In Sleep Mode

1BrightGamer

I'm surprised no one so far has brought up Kid Icarus Uprising for having a similarly behaved sound player feature, with sleep mode support and everything. After remembering that fact (and heavily utilising it), I didn't have a doubt that Sakurai and his team would omit that feature for Smash 3DS.

What I am looking forward to the most in terms of music are the extra music tracks outside of stages, as Sakurai has confirmed that there will be additional pieces of music to be heard within the Sound Player and Smash Run. Even better is that there will be a playlist feature to choose particular tracks to appear more often within Smash Run.

We've only seen this for the 3DS version and I'm already believing the soundtrack and sound options will beat Brawl. Imagine what the Wii U version will offer.
