The largest Pokémon-themed collection in the world - comprised of video games, trading cards, plush and much more - is reportedly being auctioned off.
An "anonymous" woman from Hertfordshire in England will auction more than 20,000 items as a "single lot" later this month on October 18th. A local auction firm believes the collection could bank up to £300,000 (around $340K USD).
The seller says she's parting ways with the collection due to "financial reasons", but intends to hang onto some sentimental items. The Guinness World Record certificate attached to the collection will be displayed at a pop culture exhibition at the Hertford Museum.
Although it's unclear who exactly is selling, more than a decade ago, an English pocket monster fan made headlines after becoming the biggest Pokémon collector. Hmm...

I like Pokemon but not that much.
Good luck to them.
I could never part with my games collection, I have a full cib Pal Australian N64 game collection, a Wii U collection that has some of the rarest games, rare SNES, GameCube and Wii games that has taken me most of my life to acquire.
I don't think I could part with them....
My kids will get the lot eventually........and then probably sell the lot as soon as I'm gone but hey, at least I get to enjoy them 😜
Pokemon stuff prices are madness, most Pokemon games for DS right now are more expensive than DS itself, which is a case for lot of RPG's for DS, but then you have single Pokemon cards that are even more expensive than those games.
The first Pokemon generation games are all about 50 dollars, i can't even begin to imagine how much all the merchandise and trading cards cost...
@Askalt
Yeah, sadly the Pokemon Games have a huge Price Bubble.
Would love to buy Fire Red or Leave Green, but not for those Prices and before i buy a Bootleg one, i just emulate it or play it on the Mister.
I still have the first and second gens of the Pokémon pogs and figurines complete. Some of those are worth a whole lot.
Well some rich person will scoop this up.
I'm surprised it isn't worth more than that, to be fair. Especially after hearing a graded Pokémon trading card went for a million dollars.
The sad part is that this will be bought within ten minutes of it going live.
