Only on the day Powerwash Simulator was announced for the Switch would a title like Gas Station Simulator not take us by surprise. You would think that the life sim genre had reached its strangely-specific peak with the likes of Goat Simulator, but — as a cursory search of 'simulator' on the Switch eShop will show — you would be wrong. Perfect for all those of you harbouring dreams of running your own petrol station, this garage sim comes to the Switch on October 20th.

In a time in which many are feeling the strain of rising petrol prices, the chance to run a virtual station of your own may not be the stuff of your dreams. But what if we told you that you also get to micromanage your finances as you attempt to keep the station open? Now we've got you, right?

That's right, while other life sim games serve to distract you from the toils of life with a little slice of something that you might not get the chance to do on the daily (power wash a really dirty wall, drive a tractor, be a goat), Gas Station Simulator looks to distract your daily life with, well, daily life. Hey, whatever floats your boat!

For a better idea of the in-game features that Gas Station Simulator has to offer, check out the full list from the official PR below. We have also attached some somewhat janky-looking screenshots of the sim in action, but let's admit it, realism in a game like this may bring the stresses of financial difficulty a little too close to home.

- Renovate, run, and expand a gas station in the desert
- Build new services like a workshop, store and warehouse
- Try to handle everything on your own or hire employees to help out
- Don’t forget about the supplies
- Lots of customization and decoration options
- Lots of different customers with varying needs and expectations
- Lots of management options for you to dive into

With a release date of October 20th, we're afraid that there is still a little longer to go before you can live out your garage-owner dreams. For a little taste of real life on the Switch until then, why not check out our list of the console's best life sims to keep you going?
