Cuphead Is Finally Getting A Physical Release On Switch

I was waiting for the physical release since it was announced. Would love Cuphead and Mugman amiibo to sweeten the deal. One can dream…

That's nice, never would had thought that it took 5 years until it got a physical release but hey this is the world we live in now where physical and digital don't simultaneously release anymore. Hopefully the actual release date won't be too far off.

I hope it has some form of beautiful manual or artbook inside the box, and the definitive version of the entire game on the cartridge, as this game's art definitely needs that printed material to look at and that timeless physical release. If it does, I'll buy it at a decent price.

I can't wait to try it with my kiddos, as they've been quite exasperated with me for holding out this long, insisting I will only play once I can own it physically.

The one saving grace is that it will be complete with the DLC on the cart. It was annoying to buy Streets of Rage 4 on cart, then having to sell it back and re-buy a "definitive edition" after the DLC came out later.

I remember reading somewhere that the developers wanted to give the Switch version a physical release after the DLC dropped, so it's good to see them make good on their promise like this. I haven't played Cuphead yet, but I'm very excited to know that I can own everything on one cartridge!

Nice of them to finally say something more about this, but still no release date? Come on!

Been waiting years for a physical release! It's finally almost here! I'll pick up copies for PS4 & Switch. I haven't played the DLC yet, so I'm excited for that.

Wow, I held off the digital release for 5 years.

Absolute class act waiting this long to launch physically just so they could include the DLC. I may double dip just to support the release but then again I may not haha. Regardless I think it's a really cool and good thing.

FINALLY!!! I've put off Cuphead for the physical edition, and I'm so glad it's with a decent publisher. iam8bit is solid.

I got this when it launched on Xbox but have held off on the dlc for this release. I will gladly buy this for the switch. It’s one of a kind.

@RupeeClock yeah I was only thinking I hope it's not another situation like the Ori double pack where one release is complete on cart (in this case the iam8bit one) whilst others are not.

I bought it digitally on Steam and Switch because it's one of my favorite games but I don't think I need it physical. Sure does look nice though.

So glad Limited Run is not handling this release! I am still waiting on two games from them that I ordered over five months ago. -_-

Had a feeling this was coming, but I finally give in a few months ago when the game was on sale. Still, great game and worth getting if anyone has been more patient than I was.

This is one of the few cases where I got a digital copy of a game, I'll happily double dip to get a physical copy of Cuphead on the Switch (I'll use the added DLC to justify it).

I for one can appreciate your decision/determination (although I understand about the "kiddos" - it's been a significant fraction of their lives, hahaha).

My wallet aches, another one for the collection. I've probably bought 1.5 games a month in 2022 (that's an all time high for me). I knew this year would be busy but the train just keeps going!

In a weird sense, I'm kinda glad Zelda TOTK was delayed to May 2023. It game me plenty of time to enjoy Xenoblade 3 and play other great games this year.

I think my kids were in early grade school and kindergarten when our sad Cuphead wait began. Now the younger is in 4th grade and her sister in middle school! So enough’s enough!

I hope you had a fun Bayonetta weekend! As acclaimed as those games are, I bought the 1+2 pack on Wii U and then never played it! Maybe I’ll buy 3 someday, as I’m sure it will be another outrageous hit. My wallet is crying for mercy lately, though.

That said, I’d certainly welcome your company awaiting Cuphead cartridge edition! It’s probably safe to say I will play it on release day, so I shan’t keep you waiting long. 😉

Doesn't seem to be available in Canada (the birthplace of Cuphead, no less) and American sites refuse to ship here. Does anyone know if there is a way to get it here?

@Koffyman So just...don't get the Collectors Edition and walk into a store and buy the regular one that will be getting a full retail release?

Also getting upset about how long it took for the physical to be released is silly given that they had the best possible reason for it.

That’s a bit steep for a collector’s edition. Cut out some of the bells and whistles and I’d buy it.

Great game. Plays great on Switch with no cons!

On another note: never buy collector's editions. Spend the spare money on games instead of crap that'll only collect dust.
