PlatinumGames' Bayonetta 3 stomped its way into today's Nintendo Direct, but our favourite witch had more to deliver afterwards with a solid look at the upcoming game's combat and gameplay.
Releasing on 28th October, we can see Bayonetta in action as she kicks and flips her way through demons in the upcoming third entry. You'll need to use plenty of Witch Time to get around some of these big creatures as you make your way through the city — and across the globe, too!
During the Direct itself, we got to see some of Bayonetta's friends, both new and old, return to the fray. Luka and Jeanne from the first two games are back, and we also got another look at new protagonist Viola, who plays a bit differently from the Umbra Witch with her sword, darts, and ability to use Witch Time by blocking.
And, just like Bayonetta's weapons, Viola's sword comes with its very own demon imbued into it — Cheshire. Yep, it's exactly what you think it is.
Check out the gameplay trailer over on YouTube, and prepare to take up your role as an Umbra Witch when Bayonetta 3 launches in October.

I'm sorry....WHAT?!

First few seconds of YouTube trailer and I can understand why it wasn’t in the Direct lol
Not watching the trailer so no spoilers, but yeah ready for October.
I watched the UK extended version on YouTube. The usual UK voiceover was oddly far more family friendly and wholesome.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Bayonetta is looking good as always! I know I can't be the only one who is excited for the return of this series! I spent way too much time in Bayonetta 2 due to how well presented every aspect of that game was. I am hoping this one will be the same.
I'm glad both Bayonetta 1 and 3 are getting physical release this year. This will complete my Bayonetta trilogy for Switch.
@Fizza Well it is Bayonetta....
a Halo, a Skull and swirn looking icon, does this mean Bayonetta/Viola is gonna fight not just Homoculi but also demons and angels?
Bayonetta 3 look amazing can't to play this masterpiece on my Switch.
I don't understand why more people aren't hyped for this, it looks amazing
One of the main reasons I got a switch last year and finally the wait is almost over!!
Best part of the direct!
"own demon imbued into it — Cheshire. Yep, it's exactly what you think it is."
Cheese?
Thought the first Bayonetta was amazing sort of dark and mysterious and new.
Played Bayonetta 2 and it lost me, can’t pin point it, maybe it sort of went to colourful and sort of un dark and lots it’s mysterious ness.
Kinda getting No More Heroes 3 alien vibes from Bayo 3, for whatever that's worth.
I really should give more action games a try so maybe I'll get into this eventually.
... Wun can only hope.
Not sure whether it is the aesthetic, the hairstyles or the graphics but something feels very early 2000s about this.
So did I by any chance missed the news recently that Bayonetta 1 is going to be released in physical form? Because I bumped into it by chance in Amazon and it was available for preorder, supposed to be released September 30.
Sadly they don’t have Bayonetta 2 on stock, and although not ridiculous price, the old release is still going for quite a bit chunk of change.
I loved 1 & 2 so it therefore follows....
It looks like a lot of fun
