Following on from THQ Nordic's digital showcase last week, Disney & Marvel have now announced their first-ever video game showcase.
This will include content from Disney, Pixar, 20th Century Studios, Lucasfilm (Star Wars) and Marvel. The show will be hosted by Kinda Funny host and producer, Blessing Adeoye and is airing on September 9th.
In the trailer above, you can see all sorts of franchises teased from Avatar, Aliens, Marvel's Midnight Suns (which was recently delayed, again), Disney's new free-to-play racing game Speedstorm and Lego Star Wars.
You'll be able to watch the broadcast on platforms like YouTube and Twitch. What sort of announcements would you like to see from a Disney and Marvel video game showcase? Leave a comment down below.

Me:
Oh yay, more Disney and Marvel saturation in the media!
What are the odds that here going to announce a platform fighter? Lol.
If Yoda, Rocket Raccoon, the National Geographic logo, and Lightning McQueen don't open the conference with a new fighting game from the creators of Cruis'n Blast and isn't published by Ubisoft, I'm actually gonna cry.
I’d like to see a re release of the original Lego Star Wars complete saga on the switch.
Nice. I'm excited to see where some of these properties go!
@HotGoomba I'll cry tears of joy.
@Kermit1 Whether or not it happens, I'll cry.
I'll just look to see what they say about lego star wars, other than that this is a total skip
@StarPoint if Nintendo can expand their heavily saturated properties into other forms of media why can't Marvel and Disney?
@Malones2792 I’m saying that Disney and Marvel content in the past couple of years has mostly been extremely mediocre. They’re aiming for quantity over quality. So I’m not thrilled to see a gaming showcase by them.
I pretty much ignore any video game Disney puts out at this point, simply because they've disregarded Nintendo for an absurd amount of content. Maybe I'm wrong and Sora's inclusion into SSBU meant so much more, but as it stands, most Disney games on Nintendo consoles have disappeared to more powerful hardware or they are simply mediocre at best. The Skywalker Saga might even hit that list for me... I was losing interest very fast in that game. I don't just want ports of old games. I want them to at least try to make a decent game appropriate for the Switch.
Is Disney Speedstorm, currently listed as releasing "summer 2022", finally going to get an actual release date in September?😝
I'm surprised Disney hasn't done this sooner for all their medians
What I want from Marvel is proper Marvel MMO on Nintendo Switch. DC Universe is the only one on Switch but I like Marvel hero's like X-Men SpiderMan Avengers Deadpool and so much more. I want to create my own super hero avatar that I can play as that is based on my favorite heroes. My style is Gambit. And that's what I want to base my avatar from.
From Disney what I like is a Disney adventure game that I can play with my friends whether they are near or far inwhich we can explore many Disney with my custom avatar.
And I want them in cart physical box waiting for me to pick up from GameStop. I want to buy it from GameStop. It's ok if you're selling it on eShop but cart box form is a must. I want to actually own the game.
Hopefully we get something, y'know, good! Lol.
Disney has a lot of legendary IP, so hopefully they start utilizing them well in video games.
There was a time when Disney and/or Marvel would have excited me. These days? Naw. Both organizations are too big, rich, greedy, and corrupt for me to keep supporting.
I'll keep the happy memories of a time when those companies had more soul. But going forward? Hard pass.
I be watching this with very low expectations on anything worthwhile.
I swear, if we see a platform fighter I will die from laughter and joy at the same time, I want to see darth vader beating up lighting McQueen.
I'm not interested. Never really been into Disney mush and Marvel has just become too bloated (much like their comics in the late 90s.)
Avatar… they got to figure out someway to pay off the Fox purchase.
Hoping for that Epic Mickey remake
Story dlc for Lego Star Wars would be good. A sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy would be nice but that looks like wishful thinking.
I appreciate the effort, but I am expecting this to be a giant flop 🤣
Marvel vs Capcom 2 and other Capcom's Marvel games rerelease on modern platforms, including Switch... Yeah...
Imagine a 2D Mickey game like a modern Castle of Illusion but with the graphic style of Cuphead…or a 2D Spider-Man Metroidvania by Mercury Steam with the fluidity of Dread…
Never gonna happen but man they could make some absolute dream games with their IPs.
If it's not a remaster of The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse or Epic Mickey 3, count me out.
I just want proper Kingdom Hearts Switch ports…
I would love to see a remake or sequel for Split/Second. That game was a lot of fun and a great concept.
It's been odd how quiet Disney SpeedStorm has been in comparison to Dreamlight Valley, yet it's still slated for summer and not delayed, so I guess it might be coming in September. It's technically the last month of Summer.
Ultimately, I just want to see more Disney games that aren't Kingdom Hearts, no offense.
Disney's failure to succeed within the gaming industry is one of life's little mysteries.
All the money they lost during the pandemic as a result of their theme parks, against the backdrop of gaming making record profit. How is there still not a single executive in that business that has stood up and suggested actually giving gaming a proper go?!
I appreciate the low risk model of dishing out your IP to external parties, but the fact is, you will never produce the quality level of game for your IP that you crave. Unless Disney fully invest in it themselves, they will never understand it and that means those developers you outsource to will never realise the potential because you and your execs will shoot down all their ideas.
Fools if you ask me.
Fact. Batman Arkham would have never happened and been as great as it is if Warner Brothers never went all in on gaming the way they did with Rocksteady.
