Originally released on Apple Arcade, 11 Bit Studios' South of the Circle is finally coming to Nintendo Switch next month, with a new trailer revealing that it will be available to download from Switch eShop on 3rd August. It's not long until we can strap up our snow boots and venture into the 1960s Cold War era.

Boasting an impressive voice cast and eye-catching visuals, South of the Circle promises to be a cinematic experience, with the official PR specifically referencing Firewatch and What Remains of Edith Finch as touchstones for developer State of Play.

Check out the new trailer above, and read this snippet from the official blurb to find out a little more about the story so far, followed by some more lovely-looking screens:

Follow the path of South of the Circle’s protagonist, Peter, as he is led into the frozen nooks of Antarctica. There, at the crossroads of the past and present clashing inside his mind, he must not only fight for his survival but also contemplate his entire life and the choices he’s made along the way.

We don't know about you, but those snowy scenes sure look inviting during this heatwave. Less so the relentless isolation and general direness of Peter's predicament, but a little trip to Antarctica sounds swell right about now.
