Featured as part of Nacon's Connect 2022 presentation, a new trailer for RoboCop: Rogue City has revealed gameplay and shed more light on the return of Detroit's cybernetic law enforcer, including a first glimpse of veteran actor Peter Weller, who was revealed to be returning to the role of Alex Murphy in Robo-form.
The trailer features first-person footage from the game, as well as a look at various dialogue cutscenes and ol' Robo drawers himself without his visor at the end. While it's obvious that this isn't footage of the Switch version of the game, it's great to get an idea of what developer Teyon has lined up. Rogue City is scheduled to launch in June 2023 — check it out above.
Here's some blurb from the Youtube description, followed by some PR screens:
Welcome to Detroit; crime runs rampant as the city lies on the edge of ruin, people fighting for scraps as others live extravagant lives of luxury. Control of the Detroit Police Department is given to the Omni Consumer Products corporation in an attempt to restore order. You are that solution, RoboCop, a cyborg tasked with protecting the city.
The triumphant return of RoboCop wouldn’t feel right without the man who brought so much life into the role, and we’re excited to reveal that Peter Weller will be performing voiceover work on the game. Enjoy this first look at gameplay and for the record, “dead or alive, you’re coming with me!
Let us know below if you're down to clean up the mean streets of future '80s Detroit next year, and if you think the Switch version has a hope in heck of looking anything like the game in that trailer.

How much would someone buy this for?
Is it me, or are the animations really bad? The voice isn't even synchronous with the animation when he says: "Dead or alive, you're coming with me."
@Pillowpants The voice clip is lifted directly from the movie, so I suppose it's placeholder. I'm a huge RoboCop fan, but don't dare have high hopes for this. It definitely has potential though. Hope it's better than the FPS game Titus put out (their GBC version actually wasn't bad).
@Slowdive And Rambo >.<
I love Robocop, I hope this is as good as the trailer makes it look.
ED209 looked cool. Hoping for Robocop2 but Pudface and Bone Machine are less interesting to me.
@SalvorHardin
A quid!
I'd buy that for a dollar!
"Your move creep.
Dead or alive you're coming with me......."
"F you a**hole"
"Dead then"
Love RoboCop.
“Guns, guns, guns”
Hope it turns out well though kind of have the feeling if you want decent gameplay with Weller playing Robocop you should probably stick to Mortal Kombat.
Physical on the Switch if going to look decent, otherwise on Steam.
Robocop is such a great movie. The aesthetic, the score, the sound design, and the writing are just so unique. Even though it gave me nightmares as a kid I loved if.
Mmmm.
Dark, gritty and muted colours.
Just like the Robocop I loved.
It looks very last gen, but I'm happy with that. I will play the heck out of this!
How can you mess up Robocop? Why not use the music? Why not use the iconic gun sound? Looks like a PS3 game.
Come quietly or there will be. Trouble.
@Superniall666 Maybe it is just for the demo trailer they could still end up using the music and sound effects from the movies.
I know, pedantry is one of humankind's greatest flaws, but shouldn't it be "Dead or alive, you're coming with me"?
Losing the contraction just doesn't work for me.
Did I fall into a time warp?
@Slowdive My first thought was, this looks a bit 2000's PC gaming era graphics, animation and so on, a bit like Terminator Resistance and then I read your comment.
I enjoyed Terminator despite the rough edges and clear lower budget than most games, I think a lot of it due to loving the Terminator universe in general and as I have similar feelings for Robocop, I expect I will be satisfied with this too.
I’d 100% get this, but I’ll await the performance review!
I wouldn’t be half surprised if this eventually became a cloud version, but I really hope not
Can you fly Bobby?
I'd buy that for a dollar! hopefully this is a good game. I hope it includes the massive amount of violence the first movie had
Looks cool. Too gory for me.
Can I play too?
I am not a FPS guy. But I do love RoboCop or at least the first two movies. So if this is any good and I happen to have some money to spend and time, I just might check this out
I AM DOWN, good lord
So. Excited. For. This!
Switch version could look decent if the game will be in more enclosed areas- look at Alien Isolation! Even though it was a ps3 game it looked phenomenal. Maybe there will be a new Switch by then:))))
ED-209 should be included as an unlockable character, I would play him.
This is a pleasant announcement. I love the original RoboCop, the movie is classic, a CHILDHOOD classic hahahahaha. I'm going to keep an eye on this one, looks great so far.
I do have high hopes for this games. Terminator Resistance was really good.
Did Rebellion finally make a decent Judge Dredd game?!?!!!?! Oh, wait a minute...
Hope it plays well. Graphics look 2 generations ago.
@SalvorHardin I’d buy that for $1 ahhahahahaha
@SalvorHardin
I'd buy THAT for dollar! Hahaha.
But anyway.....I'm so excited for this, and Evil Dead. I normally play Japanese, colorful, anime-style games, but I'm holding out for those two on Switch. I hope they pull off a good port. Doom looks great on my switch (I mean for a portable console you have to admit it looks pretty good), so I think it could do well on switch too.

For the drum and bass fans.
I'll give it a shot.
Love some RoboCop 1.0 (Sorry reboot).
Since all the other lines have been said already, I'll drop...
"Cain! Let's step outside" and
"Patience... We're only human".
Looks to have real potential. Will need a review though. Based on a dang classic of a sci fi film!
"Your move creep"
@Pillowpants Are you serious? Seeing as how the game is scheduled for release in June 2023, it's nowhere near completion, and i'm sure the developers will address any issues before it's released.
No hope for this. Rambo is one of the worst games ever made and Terminator is pretty awful.
June 2023 came and went, so where is it?
