Another one of the highlights during the Limited Run Summer Showcase was the news Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords would be receiving a physical release on the Switch.
This version is based on Aspyr's recent port and follows on from Limited Run Games' release of the original game on the Nintendo Switch. The second game will be arriving on the hybrid system at some point this summer.
This announcement has been shared just before the digital release of KOTOR II on the Switch, which takes place tomorrow. If you are going with a digital copy, you'll be able to pick the game up in a bundle, alongside the original title.
Will you be adding this one to your physical Switch library? Leave a comment down below.

I was hoping for this game to get a wide physical release, especially since limited run games asks for an arm and a leg if you're living in Europe. I'm glad for those who can afford to get the physical edition, but I'm personally broke, so I'll refrain.
I missed the physical version of the first one so I'd like to not miss out this time. I've actually never played either of them all the way through. Right before the original came to switch i was attempting my first playthrough on the old Xbox but I got side tracked. I'd really like to give them a propper run. Which ones better?
Glad this is announce, I'm still waiting for the first one to get to me soon.
@Truegamer79 Both are great games with interesting stories and characters. I think the first game is better overall but the second has some nice features like no level cap, you start out as a force user and your decisions have a larger impact on the story and your companions.
The second entry is darker and mixes a few things up. Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask is probably a decent comparison. The second builds well upon the first.
@Truegamer79
First one.
I have bright Memory of the first one.
A while ago i wanted to start the second and i saw that there was a Savegame...
I was astounished that i played about 30 Hours... and i have absolutly no Memory of it.
I ordered the physical release of the first game last year and still haven’t received it yet.
This was one of the games that I will 100% order.
A normal run from a more prompt and reliable publisher would be nice.

Gonna hold out and hope there's a double pack from thq Nordic in Europe again
I like having physical games to sit on the shelf, but I just can't get on board with the price that getting these Limited games sent to the UK costs,especially for games that are otherwise available so cheaply. And that's before the whole issue or when will they actually get sent out. I picked both KotOR games up on PC for a total of £5, so that'll do for me.
@Abeedo
Agree. One should think they could easily afford to have a distributing office in Europe for their customers to avoid the massive taxing fees for shipping overseas. Should generate enough extra sales to make a profit.
Thank goodness for Limited Run Games.
Soooo many physical releases that otherwise wouldn't exist. These guys are rock stars.
Luckily this does NOT mean a physical double pack, regular retail, is NOT possible. I hope it will happen, and if it doesn't, that just means I won't be getting it. Unless it gets a deep sale digitally.
@Aneira as a business, they probably don't see it that way. Limited print, always sold out, why would they care? It wouldn't be an investment, they'd either have to sell more units making it less sought after so less easy to sell out in preorders, or just sell the same amount, having to print different versions, and pay for two companies instead of one. Business is not passion, it's numbers. Cold, dead, numbers. I'm willing to believe some of them are passionate about their product, but not so much that they'd sacrifice profit in an economy where profit is the driving factor of business.
I too would love to see another world one day, I've already quit partaking in this one mostly, and am actually building my own very small society outside of it, so it's not just me being bitter
@Shambo
That's not quite how their limited print works.
It's not a fixed amount. It's an open preorder which means quantities are in fact not limited but unlimited until the preorder window closes. At that point the amount is fixed and sent for manufacture at Nintendo. The more copies they sell, the more money they make.
The pros for this model is that everyone can get a copy opposed to the model Super Rare Games uses.
The cons for this model is you won't get your game shipped anytime soon. Most likely between 9-12 months after you have paid.
LRG? No, thanks!
@Aneira they hold stock back so they can sell them after the run has ended, which drives the price up artificially on eBay. It’s essentially legitimised scalping.
Still waiting on my LRG pre-order of the 1st one, which is actually at their warehouse, so that should finally be here soon. Can't have one without the other, so I'll definitely get this 2nd one to go right beside it (& my OG Xbox copies).
Hopefully pre-orders of this will start soon, but they can take their time, what with the bugs. Yet I'm sure those game-breaking bugs will be patched by the time of its physical release. Can't wait.
(speaking of bugs, I truly hope the game-breaking Carth glitch from the OG Xbox was patched in the 1st KoTOR on Switch. I never actually made it past that glitch on Xbox, even though I researched how to avoid it).
