During the Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase, Capcom's Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak expansion got a meaty launch trailer to celebrate its upcoming release on June 30th.
The trailer itself showcases some slick gameplay footage alongside story cinematic. Towards the end of the trailer, we got a look at the roadmap planned for the game, with free title updates coming in August, Autumn, Winter, and 2023. These will include new monsters and a new locale called Forlorn Arena.
In addition to a new storyline, this monstrous new expansion for MONSTER HUNTER RISE will introduce new monsters, new combat options, new locales, the Master Rank quest difficulty and other exciting features! Journey across the sea to Elgado Outpost, where you’ll investigate powerful creatures known as the Three Lords – the hulking beast Garangolm, the icy wolf wyvern Lunagaron and the expansion’s flagship Elder Dragon, the vampiric Malzeno. Alongside the Three Lords, SUNBREAK will also introduce numerous other monsters and even fan-favorite species from previous MONSTER HUNTERgames! Play solo, hunt with anyone via a local connection* or join up to three other hunters in online co-op play!

Game keep getting better and better. At this rate, I'll finally start farming to get my armors/weapons collection.
I was kinda surprised that they took up four minutes of the mini direct on this when we already know so much about it.
@Ooyah Because this is one of the juiciest third-party partnerships that Nintendo has going for them. Rise shipping 7+ million on the Switch alone is an incredible partnership.
I'm ready, got my Gunlance set ready and luckily have the day off
@Pho got my Insect Glaive ready and I took the day off.
@Realness Have you seen the explosive powder Insect Glaive got? Absolutely nuking these poor animals.
@Diogmites The hunt is on!
Have the day off myself for this release. I'm doing it digital on my Switch. Monster Hunter never leaves my system. I have MHGU, Rise, and MHS2 already on there, never to be removed. Sunbreak is just the next MH to join the collection. My bow is limbered up, and I'm so ready to embark on a new adventure!
I've been waiting for this to come out on PC so I could start the main game first. €40 is a bit steep tbh but looking at this it seems like the content you get for that Price is definitely worth it.
Gore Megala is back❤
@Giancarlothomaz Gore was announced in the last trailer, that was Shagaru, lol.
@Pho yes I have. I’m thrilled. Level 310. If you want to go on a hunt, let me know. That goes for anyone else. Let’s light some fools up!
@Realness Absolutely, I'll get you my friend code later today.
The high pitch constant oprea singing killed the trailer for me. Tho I'll admit the graphics looked dope.
Teared up when I saw Seething Bazel, that theme is incredible. Finish work tomorrow evening and not back in till Wednesday next week to properly dive into this.
Can't wait!
Absolutely hyped about this expansion. Rise was incredible and I'm ready to sink hundreds of hours into Sunbreak.
Also, the Magnamalo variant looks so badass!
@Pho and anybody else: SW-1578-0087-5798
Is Pho your name on your switch? Just so I know who I’m accepting
@Diogmites my offer extends to you too my friend. My code is in my previous post. Let’s get it
@Realness Yep, that'll be me. Sent, wont be able to hunt until thursday but I'm free all day then
That was one of the best trailers I seen in a while.
Just wish this wasn't launching on the same day as the Cuphead DLC. :/
But yeah, I'm excited. Getting back into Rise last month reminded me how much I enjoyed that game when it first came out.
Got it pre-ordered, hopefully we can pre-download tomorrow.
@RubyCarbuncle Think of this as MH Rise 2, if its like say Iceborne you are getting a sequels worth of content for that $40. In fact i wouldn't be shocked if the expansion contains more content then the base game.
I went back to rise last week in anticipation and remembered why I put like 400 plus hours in at launch.
The trailer looked amazing; if only I didn't hate Monster Hunter combat so much the series would be perfect.
@Realness I'll add you when I boot up my switch next. Name is similar to the one here
I don't need it, but I want it.
@Jimmy_G_Buckets right on. Jump in.
@FishyS Not sure if you've tried Rise but the wire bug mechanic makes the combat feel much faster and chaotic in the best way. Only played World prior to Rise but it's definitely easier to get into.
I'd get this if Monster Hunter had a "no grinding mode" for people who just want to play a hack and slash action game.
@Moistnado Monster Hunter doesn't require any grinding if you just want to play through the story. They massively reduced the materials required for armour and weapons a couple of games ago.
The grind only really begins at end game.
@Jey887 I think your definition of grind is different to mine. I have purchased a few MH games over the years and could never get past the second creature. I am sure Capcom would make a killing if they created a button mashing mode, for people with less time on their hands and want to play through in a couple of hours.
